This has gotten awful reviews. I still have to try the demo..but I've read that the effects are really weak.robi79 wrote:Yellowtools freedom to be found here http://www.yellowtools.us/cp21/cms/index.php?id=667

PSP Nitro was mentioned before, and is a very good choice. The logic users group have currently a group buy on PSP products, and one of the bundles is the PSP Effects Pack, which consists of Lexicon PSP42, PSP84, PSP Nitro, and PSP 608 MultiDelay. If the group buy reaches full discount, the bundle will cost $194.50, not bad considering the the plugs individually cost $149.

Is there even a demo? I couldn't find one on their site anywhere?TotcProductions wrote:I still have to try the demo.
I don't mind there not being a demo for something under $50, but at $450, I have to admit I would have to try it before ever considering it.
Mind you, in this case I don't think I'd ever consider getting it, so maybe they knew that their target audience wouldn't care about demos.

I think it was mentioned earlier, but I think it is worth trying Scarbee's VKFX plugin. Some good quality effects (although nothing crazy) and a really cool drag and drop routing scheme. For me, $200 is too much for it, but Scarbee occasionally have fairly generous sales (it recently was 50% off, but it overlaps many things I already have, so I just couldn't justify the pruchase).
I assume you've tried most freeware multiFX, but for a cool spectral effect, be sure to check out DtBlkFX if you haven't yet. Four serial effect slots and some especially nice filtering options.

ShapeShifter is worth demoeing, its an inexpensive multi-effect unit with a very intuitive interface that makes it easy to tweak and experiment. You can also change the order of the effects which gives you added flexibility in the sounds you can create.
Here are a couple of examples:

Aweful reviews? Where did you read them? I only read several reviews about freedom where they rate it very good (in the regular music press). Somewhere I read a good review about it online, too, I think, but as I couldn't find this review I could be wrong about an online review. However, you're the first one, I've ever heard/read that freedom is weak.

if i HAD to choose between them i THINK id go for the phatspace bundle ... maybe not as extreme or deep as SFX machine but MUCH easier to use and you get the handy gate / sequencer ...
