Hmm.
The porta control in the arpeggiator has portamento ON when it reads "off" and vice versa. Unless it's intented to be some kind of strange reverse logic this might have slipped in?
Oh, and I complained eariler that the OSC presets don't work. But they do indeed. There just aren't any presets there yet, but I can put my own ones in there.
I also saw a typo in some strange two-item menu somewhere. Gotta hunt it down because I forgot where it was...

when porta is OFF then ALL notes react to the porta control, if it's ON then only the Notes that are set to the arrow-symbol will react to porta.

Exactly!
I think I'll rename it to something like "Porta on Legato" or something, but screen estate is rare these times...

I just had my first problem in Tracktion. Zebra caused a fatal error, but there was nothing useful displayed in the dialog box. From that point on I couldn't open the GUI.
Not sure if it is related, but it was the first time I had a few (four) instances of Zebra running.
Oh, and hooray for the FX filters! MSEG updates are also very cool. Osc presets...... I could go on and o n and on..... Thanks a lot, Urs.

This is such an intricate beautiful thing!

Yo boys,
I've compiled a pretty long list of things to do, but actually nothing too serious. The crash bug in the editor should be about the same thing that I already fixed in some portions of the code but obviously not in all of them.
The other bugs concern side effects between arp and envelopes, malfunctioning lfo random glide, rogue osc sounds on sse2 machines (win only), a denormalization bug in the ringmod, gui resize problem in vst 2.4 (Intel Macs) and what not. Anyhow, that's easy to cope with.
I'll start on this tomorrow, I had a hard day setting up wlan at my grrrls place. I'm too stupid for technical things like that.
Oh... before I forget... the uhe_data folder will be moved to Program Files\u-he\ and it'll probably be possible to move folders anywhere by shortcuts on Windows. At least, that was part of the plan to rewrite everything file handling. Which also means that I'll have to dive into installers. We'll see...
Later,
Urs

I guess some people will be upset by this but I'm starting to get annoyed with the company u-he's unprofessional behavior.
I was stupid enough to buy Zebra2 last year when I thought it would be released 2005.
A lot of delays and missed deadlines:
Jul 15 2005: "..final version announced withing 3-6 weeks.." "..released within 6-10 weeks (manual written, tons of presets, optimized cpu performance, as free of bugs as possible"
Oct 15 2005: "..when Z2 is out! This year, definately."
Nov 19 2005: "So we can safely say, official announcement + preview version early December, final release late December - early January"
Apr 19 2006: ".. I hope that the things remaining will be finished within 2 weeks."
May 25 2006: "..So, these maybe 2-3 extra weeks have opened up some great possibilities."
Jul 21 2006 10:24AM: "..I'm confident that the PC version will be posted here in a couple of hours.. "
Jul 21 2006 01:25PM: "Well boys, I just arrived back home and booted Win.."
You write that you'll release a win version in about two hours and after that you leave your workplace for 3 hours??
And the latest beta release. Did you even try it on your own windows machine in a couple of different hosts before releasing it?
If the weather is too hot - buy a fan or AC or work during the night. Don't write about it on your company's official support forum.
I doesn't look good to blame further delays of an already delayed product on the weather.
It's fun for you that you've found a girlfriend but it's not interesting for me as a customer to your company.
Prioritizing family/girlfriend over work - Totally right. Letting your customers know that you do - stupid as hell.
If you're close to a final release and have released a very buggy beta you maybe have to say no to some social things for a couple of weeks? Fix one of the major bugs instead of going to a barbeque. Double check that the bug is fixed instead of spending one day setting up a workplace on a small laptop at your girlfriends place... Or lie to your customers "I'm working hard 16 hours / day and estimate that a bug free version will be released in 3 days" (actual development time estimate: 6hr * 2 + 10% = 1 day, barbeque 1 day, away from computer spending time with girlfriend 1 day).
And don't move your workplace to your girlfriend. It won't be good for either your company or your relationship.
I'll probably check out Zebra2 again in a year or so when the product and the company u-he have matured.

Hmmm, whatever.
If "professional" means that people hide anonymously behind fancy company names and come up with a lot of marketing bubbles and excuses like "Apple doesn't give us the information" or "There's a bug in the hosts behaviour", well yes, then I'm glad not to be professional.
My way of thinking is different. I'm a single, authentic person, you can even call me at any time because my private phone is on my website. I make a lot of plans and have a lot of ideas, that I talk about pretty openly. Most of all, there's no clear boundary between my private life and my development efforts. Like in real life, a lot of unforeseen things happen. Such as the weirdness that happened in 2004 (!) when I was sure that Zebra would be out for PC shortly, when actually circumstances changed.
However, I prefer to discuss personal problems between any you & me privately via email, in order to find a solution rather than being bashed in public within my forum.
Cheers,
Urs

I for one love the fact that we are dealing with a flesh-and-blood person rather than a faceless corporate entity.
