Every time I bring my Receptor in to open it remotely, I have to repair the connection at LEAST once, which is highly annoying, and time consuming. It also takes while to "find" it, meaning when I press on the Remote shortcut the first couple of times, it doesn't show up, but after a while it does.

I wouldn't say so as my connection (via router) has been rock solid and without any delay to speak of after boot.
It might be useful to rebuild your Windows network with the wizard.

Thanks Kermit - I think part of the problem might be the way I've got it set up. I have a router inside my house, and a network cable running out to my studio computer. Then I have the Receptor plugging directly into the studio computer, rather than the router (can't run another cable).

there is a tip here that will make your windows box "find" the receptor immediately.Watto wrote:Every time I bring my Receptor in to open it remotely, I have to repair the connection at LEAST once, which is highly annoying, and time consuming. I highly recommand fixed IP's and a gigabit switch if you can swing it. On my windows box I have my internet connection to my DSL wireless router on a separate network I/F card as well. I have never once had to repair my connection.

Yes, your particular connection might well be the source of your problem. When you use a router, you should really plug everything onto it.
The tip given above is great, but then again, a good connection will produce the desired results without resorting to extra settings.

I have multiple computersw: mac G5 as primary sequencer/DAW, a PC which used to be my primary VST player before Receptor, now serves as aditional Kontact2 player, then a Gigastudio PC plus a general purpose machine for internet/email, etc which deos off-line audio and video processing. I run an 8-port gigabit switch, and it all works just great. I can access the Receptor GUI or hard drive, no prob.
CC has these for around $80 as I recall.
