I went to Guitar Center and they told me there are like 4 or 5 different Receptors. What was the orignal version and what Processor and Ram and Hard drive?
THey named off a few models. HDT or something, Rev C etc. Why is it so difficult to get this information from Muse Research or even from this Forum?
I searched everywhere and I cannot find any information at all. THere is some information on this formum but no specific link or thread to all the revision levels and components in them.
Can an original Receptor be upgraded to v1.5, ram up to 2 gigs and with a 200Gig hard drive or even larger? What about the Processor? What does the latest Receptor have as far as HArd drive, Ram and Processor? DO any of them have the new DUal Core AMD Pentium?
Where can I get this information? Don't give me a link to Muse because I looked carefully for over 30 minutes and found nothing. I searched this forum and found a few things not much.
Will PC3200 DDR , 1GIG non ECC no BUffered ram work. I found one by Samsung for $50 1 gig but its not low density its High density and only works on a few SIS and VIA chipsets.
Here is the link to the ram amybe someone can tell me if it will work or not?

rev c is at the top of the web site.
I just got one ( from sweetwater).
there are threads that say pre rev c is not available.( thread: 1999 receptor down the screen.- i think)
Mine came w 256, but i also bought 2 megs of corsair memory and swapped them out.
I think base model is mostly 160 mg drive.
From plugorama website- you can get 200 or 400 meg drives.
Not duo core, i think.plugorma has a lot of info-check that out.

Guitar Center are talking crap. There are only two versions of Receptor, A & C, and variations in terms of memory and size of the hard drive. The original version A came with an XP2600+ CPU, 40Gb drive and 256Mb memory. The C version has a new motherboard and a 160Gb drive as standard. The original A version can be upgraded to 2Gb ram and up to 400Gb drive. Changing the processor is a waste of time as the current design could take up to a XP3000+ but I doubt this would really make a significant impact on how many plugs you can run. The current CPU suits the design and cooling employed, a guarantee of longevity.

Dose the colour on the front of the unit have any relation to the Rev type? Just noticed that my friends Receptor has a lighter colour than mine.
Or is this just a magnetta kipper?
