:(

Not SSE2 related (enabled anyway in my case)

No changes on ACID 6.0a - Zebra2.dll still refuses to load at startup (hangs ACID) and the convoluted manipulation described previously still works.

(ACID 6.0a, WinXP Pro, Pentium 4)

Havn't found any, either :?

I think CamelAudio used to have an archive with 3000+ on their site, but you gotta go in the user space now... must find my account details...

I can't remember where that came from actually, I think Ben got permission to distribute it from someone, not sure. get in touch with Tim@ the usual email suffix and he could send you it perhaps?

I'll download the ACID trial and try how it behaves here.

Okay,

so far so good. I gotta hunt down *any* SSE code and prevent it from being executed on non-SSE machines... that's at least some progress!

Regarding ACID6... weow... does it give you any hint about what it's doing when it hangs? Some message like "Scanning Zebra2.dll" or something? Does "6.0a" mean that it's an alpha version? If so, could you make its developers aware of the problem and maybe send them my email addy so we can discuss that directly?

Cheers,

;) Urs

Thanks spritex!

Z2 seems to be the only VSTi in my collection that behaves that way - even Reaktor works fine...

Yep: "Scanning for audio plugins... Loading Zebra2.dll"... and that's it :(

No, I believe the 'a' actually means it's a fix for 6.0.
I certainly can post something on the support forum.

I can confirm that Acid behaviour. Just tried with the 6.0a trial.
This is with the newest SSE version of Zebra2 and a SSE2 P4.

good with the NonSSE in Fl Studio and Live 5..

:( Thanks anyway.

As Urs suggested, I've dropped an email to a Sony support guy - hopefully Urs will find and fix the root cause...

Is the trial available online for download?

Maybe it lets me run itself in the debugger so that I can isolate the problem quickly...

Okay, Peter of Sony got in touch with me. I guess there'll be a fix shortly 8)

Pops and noise when changing preset. ex: tas before dawn 01 -> tas exoplanet 01 -> tas howling iceberg 01.
Looks like it's generated by the FX shapers. Same problem if you activate/deactivate shaper.

Vector graphics doesn't work in protools using FXpansion VST-RTAS wrapper. Sound and control works. Same problem with Filterscape demo. Earlier thread about the problem in a different host: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=107425
Check MoonDive's picture.

Error in script engine. You can crash zebra by swapping fast between your Random XY script and a patch (tested with Beejays - Aftermonics).

No Unicode support in registration info - my name looks ugly. ;)

Amd athlon xp, winxp sp2, energyXT, Zebra-NoSSE

edit: Removed patches sound diffrent in this version. It's the env/arp bug.

Thanks man, will try that when my other heavy construction areas can be closed ;)

The .tun files I got are definately not "common", in that sense that they indeed feature a whole bunch of very high frequent notes. Sounds as if someone was making the ultimate aliasing test or something.

Now, if there was just *one* that is anything close to welltempered and playable...

I'm not sure if it matters anymore, but every demo download from Linplug contains a selection of .tun-files. Some of them are named "xx_Tone_Equal_Temperament", where xx are some numbers (13, 17, etc.).

Greetings,
Michael
Someday I'll look back on all this and laugh... until they sedate me.

That would be great!

I have to say I'm impressed by Peter (he managed to investigate, test, get in touch with you whilst keeping me in the loop, all that in a couple of hours) and you, Urs (although I seem to be the only ACID user here, you still try and get this issue solved ASAP) both!

True professionals in action.
