Disclaimer - there may be ways to do some of these, if so, please let me know
Liqih,
I hope you can have a think about these suggestions. I reckon they will make DK+ easier to use.
FR01 - Make the terms on the [Menu] consistent
The [Menu] refers to drum "sounds and "rhythms" and to the combination of a drumkit and rhythm as a "style, but the selectors at the bottom of the GUI refer to drum "kits" and "styles".
Suggestion: In the [Menu], replace "Styles" with "Band", then at the next menu level, replace "by rythm" with "by "style" and "by sound" with "by kit"
FR02 -reset the Step Sequencer patterns
[Menu] >> Reset >> Full Reset does not reset the Step Sequencer.
Suggestion - have three types of reset - MIDI Controllers, Drums Pads, Full Reset (which clears the Sequences too)
FR03 -Remember "Auto preview" setting
In the Voice Editor Load dialogue [+], can the state of "auto preview" be remembered from one Load dialogue to the next? Right now, you have to set it each time the window is opened.
FR04 -Show "Are you sure" prompt near to [-]
In the Voice Editor, when you Unload a sample [-], can the "Are you sure" prompt pop-up close to the [-] sign that was clicked, to minimize unnecessary mouse movement (currently the prompt pops up in the centre of the screen)
FR05 - Entering Note Names for Low, Center, High
a) In the Voice Editor, it would be useful to be able to type in the note names (c2, c#2) etc as well as the MIDI note numbers
b) Also, on the skins, change "Center" to "Root", this note is often not in the centre of the key range, and "Root" is a more common term
FR06 - Cutoff Frequency
a) can the Cutoff frequency numeric value be shown in Hz, currently it is 0..127. Hz would be much more useful.
b) when you Ctrl+click the Cutoff Frequency, I think it should it should reset to maximum (fully open) for [LP] or to minimum (fully open) for [HP]

Just to throw a couple more into the mix:
1) Saving of individual pads &/or groups of pads
2) Drag & drop pads between instances
Things that make it easier to mix & match kits 'n bits.

And here's a few more that would make life easier:
FR07 - Closing the Compressor Editor
Can right-click on the Compressor [E] button in the Drums window close the Compressor window? (like it does for the Voice Editor]
FR08 - Closing the Voice Editor
Can you move the [x] button nearer to the right-hand corner (as in on the Compressor window)
FR09 - GUI Enhancements
it would be good to be able to change:
- the foreground and background colours for all menus (especially the Kits drop-down list - bright-blue, Aaarghh!)
- the background colour for the Step Seq grid (currently it is always a steel grey colour, AFAIK
FR10 - Order of loaded samples in the Pad
Can the loaded samples be sorted using both the Velocity and the Sample name (but not the full path), currently only the Velocity is used to sort them
FR11 -Resetting a Mute Group
Can we have right-click on a Mute Group to reset it to none [M]?
FR12 - Resetting the FX Send knob
Can Ctrl+click on the FX Send knob set it to its minimum position (currently it is set to its centre position), this would be more meaningful
[Edited - typo in FR numbers]

why do you need that?

I was setitng up random triggers and when I changed the velocities, the samples were sorted automatically and sometimes got apparently "out of order".liqih wrote:FR10 - Order of loaded samples in the Pad

Here's an example based on modifying guido's ns-Kit7 preset

I think that it would be better if the second and third samples were swapped round as the sample names include an indication of the level. So "l31" would be in slot 2 and "l45" in slot 3.
Hope that makes sense

You mean in case when the velocities are the same, use the names for the order?
If so, it makes sense.
