Another one: I tried to save a patch with name "Cute Bass/Lead". It didn't give any error but it wasn't saved either. Must be because of the "/" character. Same thing with "?" and probably others.
I lost a nice patch because I didn't realise it wasn't saved. So it would be good if it would at least warn about it, if it can't save. Apparently something to do with Windows filename restrictions...

Yep... right... I should filter these malicious characters out...spritex wrote:Another one: I tried to save a patch with name "Cute Bass/Lead". It didn't give any error but it wasn't saved either. Must be because of the "/" character. Same thing with "?" and probably others.

Well, some patches do make Z2 a cpu hog... especially complex pads with long release times...ATS wrote:I noticed playing chords in Project5 that it uses A LOT of cpu, I mean like 90-100% with some patches. I have 2.4 ghz p4 and 1/2 gig ram.
I'm eventually gonna write a tutorial on preset optimization though... one can usually squeeze quite some performance out of them if one knows where to look (number of voices, osc resolution parameter, mute unused channels, use different filter types, lower release times, abuse ModFX for eq instead of extra eq, use white noise instead of pink, use osc fx instead of filters etc.)

Will report that to Abletonpdxindy wrote:Still cannot esc out of the XY dialog box... (Live6)
I mean, that's the only host and I'm absolutely conforming to Apple Carbon specs

No problem at all, I kinda felt like I pushed you right over the edge of sanity the last time I pm'ed you about the problem, which was just before releasing the first pc beta version if I remember right, so I'm just glad you've been able to solve this

shshshshsh... it's always been so, but you're the first one to notice... sadly I've never found out why this is so... seems to be an obscure bugspritex wrote:I noticed one more thing, in the Arpeggiator Arp Order, BF >-< and FB >-< sound the same. Am I doing something wrong? Tried it with 3 and 4 note chords.
Okokok... will see what I can do about it... keep bugging me!spritex wrote:Oh, and Urs - about that mini-waveform display color. It really is so dark blue now, that you can only see the selected waveform, the other mini-waveforms totally disappear in the black background. In Zebralette I can see them clearly, which is nice.

Well, hehehe, I'm much easier with bugs that have an imaginable cause. This one was just so beyond my horizon, I simply got a mental hickup over itMoonDive wrote:No problem at all, I kinda felt like I pushed you right over the edge of sanity the last time I pm'ed you about the problem, which was just before releasing the first pc beta version if I remember right, so I'm just glad you've been able to solve this

When thinking about the high CPU taxing patches, I was wondering:
Is there some engine-tied reason why you have few/medium/many voices and not a specific number of voices setting?
