Filterscape instead of Metaflanger...?

Could Filterscape be used to replace Metaflanger - realistically, could they sound as good as each other?

I really need a great sounding flanger/phaser-type effect; is Filterscape programmable enough, or does it have enough parameters to be programmed, in order to replicate the metaflanger sound?

thanks

I don't know what metaflanger is, but I'd doubt that Filterscape was suited for this... it does not (yet) offer comb filters and it's also not specialized in phasing... (which doesn't mean that it never will)

boo... not what I wanted to hear. Never mind.

hey, just had a thought - maybe I could use filterscape Q6 to create a series of high Q peaks or notches, and automate those to scan down the frequency spectrum... and then maybe I could use Vintage Warmer to add a little saturation...

I'll give it a whirl, see what comes out the monitors. Stand by!

ps, Metaflanger - taken from the Waves site:

"produces vintage tape-flanging, phaser-emulation, and special effects like no other flanger, ever. Create gentle choruses, sharp phasing effects and a variety of true dual-delay flanging sounds quickly. The wet signal includes filters so you can flange or phase just part of the signal (and they are FIR filters for absolutely perfect harmonic alignment). Wow. Harmonic Convergence in a plug-in. Also features phase inversions at all key points, extensive factory presets of vintage emulations (Mutron, MXR, Itchycoo Park) and more. MetaFlanger version 5 also supports tempo sync"

honesty is rarely rewarded...

(As opposed to overhyped/advertised normal stuff.)
