Clicking the purchase button on the Convo Boy demo in Sonar 4 causes Sonar to crash, probably because of the VST wrapper.

Yes, I purchased it from the site (still waiting for the updated version), but wanted to post this so that others wouldn't make the same mistake I made (first time I ever tried to access an outside link on a plug-in).

Ahhh, just got it. Thanks! Now, I can start mixing again once this sinus infection clears up.

I'm considering buying some Elevayta plugs for use in, erm, three different hosts. Sonar 5PE, Adobe Audition 2, and Ableton Live 5 (soon, 6).
Given what you have said about the problems registering from within Sonar, and given that according to the website there are display issues within Audition, it seems obvious that I should register from within Live.
Please could you confirm whether this is indeed the best approach, and that this will activate registered versions for use in all three programs?
Cheers.

Oh right - thanks for the warning.
I have only put the demos into Sonar and Live so far - I didn't get around to a rescan in Audition... I guess I'm a difficult customer in that if I love these plugs I will want them to work in all three programs.
It's possible though that in Audition I may be able to use the DX versions that have been through the Cakewalk wrapper... (all my VSTs also appear as DX via that route).

The products made available to licensed users come in the form of an automatic installation (including uninstall). This includes a utility that enables to register the plug-in independent of any host. Once registered, the plug-ins are licensed for the whole PC irrespective of application. The license is transferable.headquest wrote:I'm considering buying some Elevayta plugs for use in, erm, three different hosts. Sonar 5PE, Adobe Audition 2, and Ableton Live 5 (soon, 6).

With respect to Audition compatibility. I have spent some effort to make my plug-ins compatible with Audition (which has, in the past, proven to be problematic for other developers). I can confirm that all my plug-ins were working in Audition 1.5. After some time, my Audition demo expired and I enquired at Adobe to provide me with a developers license (like many host developers provide to plug-in developers) but got no response.
Having spent the effort to work around some bugs in Audition 1.5, it surprises me that, as reported here, my plug-ins should now show up as unsupported in Audition 2. This is the first I hear about it and, as you may see on my FAQ page, I assumed I had solved any compatibility problems with Audition.
Please be sure to try the demos of my products before purchasing.

Good Point. If there are indeed problems with native VST in Audition 2, it is very likely that going the the Cakewalk VST wrapper will work fine. Please try both routes with the demos.headquest wrote:It's possible though that in Audition I may be able to use the DX versions that have been through the Cakewalk wrapper... Thanks for responding Paul.
FIrstly regarding Audition 2, I did a VST scan and both the VST version and Cakewalk wrapped DX versions appear. All of the interfaces work in Audition 2 (despite the warning they might not on your site). However, some of the effects themselves do not appear to work. For example, loading Convo Boy in edit view, when I click on "Load Impulse" the whole programme freezes. I tried this four times - twice with the VST and twice with the DX - always with the same result. Others (e.g. Wide Boy Pro) work perfectly fine.
Adobe are doing good things with Audition (the program) but don't yet seem to have *joined the music community* in spirit! But there is a 30-day version of Audition 2 if you are interested in checking these in more detail. Or I am happy to help
In Sonar, some of them are also not working quite right. Convo Boy is again misbehaving (although I might warn you that Convo Boy is not actually on my shopping list anyway - I'm quite happy with Sonar's Perfect Space convolution
). Also FrEQ Boy needs a good slap - he stops the audio engine.
All of them so far are playing nicely in Ableton Live however (which is actually my own prime playground).
I hope this helps, and once again thanks for answering so quickly!

Thanks for the feedback. Will take a look again. Seems like I can't rely on continuity from one version to the next.
I don't see how FreEq Boy should cause such problems in SONAR. It doesn't here.
Be aware that the demos of some of my plug-ins are quite old and don't contain all optimizations or features.
