Nope! the feel will only get better, I know exactly what I did to make it respond that way :D Now its time to make it have a better feel and tone.

You wouldn't even need to see both of them - everything could be optimised during design to operate internally and just appear as one O.D. pedal. Or alternately - an O.D. pedal running in parallel with the main amp sim. Might save CPU cycles :) I'm only suggesting this as an alternative if two complete amp sims is too CPU intensive. If you can use two complete amps sims then you can probably get a little speaker/cab dynamics out of the deal, too!!
No! the overdrive and amps are quite a bit different, I tried to make the pedals drive a bit more raspy then the drive in the amps, also the pedal only offers tone control instead of eq and it contains no contour, power amp or speaker simulation.
I'm not so concerned about CPU being up when two amps are used, just want to make sure it don't push up CPU when only one amp is in use (should be very possable).

Update! spent all weekend with a tube screamer and a ds-1 (the real thing) also checked out the avalable VST emulations.
My distortion was not far off at all :) The tone control of my pedal was way off (almost had a nasel tone compared to the real thing) :D Not any more, the tone control of the drive pedal has been completely rebuilt :D

Peace

Thanks, and don't worry about the past :) When things move along further yeh! I'm going to need all the help testing I can get (I'm not joking when I say I removed all Amps, Eq's and Speakers) :hihi: Could introduce some serious bugs rebuilding this? could be new year by the time its ready?
My next step is to go through all the FX there are many things I want to change and I also want to make the Chorus, Flanger, Phaser and Delay avalable as mono FX on the input of the amp or stereo FX on the output! any sugestions on the FX order would be great (always good to hear other peoples view)

Like I said don't worry about the past :) Guitar players actually blow my mind how much opinion they have about tone :hihi: I grew up playing bass, almost every different guitar player I played with said "most guitar players don't know good tone, here this is the sh*t) :hihi: Funny thing is they all played different axes and different rigs but believed there tone was the sh*t?
Me I listen back to the old and some of the new stuff and find! There are so many different guitar tones on hit songs and I dig them all :D I guess the main thing is? did it inspire the player enough to want to play and write a hit tune.
Have read posts on this forum saying Jimi's tone sucks :hihi: inpired him quite well I would say? again me I kind of dig it all, sometime it don't need pretty?

The reason I ask what kind of guitar you are using is because all the included presets sound so much better to me with my Strat - and I'm willing to bet that most of the people who do not like FreeAmp as much are using high output pickups (my Dan'o actually has higher output than my Strat, with 4 lipstick tube pickups in series, more like a couple P-90's).

Also, my Strat is tuned standard, where as my Dano is tuned a full step low, and that might be part of the percieved "problem" too (that would be the "too much emphasis on the fundimental, not enough on the harmonics" theory posed by Rich Rath). With the Danelectro, I can clearly hear that "Wah half open" thing and some of the "boxiness" or "muddiness" others have complained about (I actually like the "boxiness"... sounds like a snarlin' small blues combo to me 8) ) but I don't really hear either at all with the Strat.

I guess I'm just suggesting that it would be good to test with both Strat type and LP type (perhaps with high output pickups) guitars if possible.

A method to hide/mask the FX-pedals not being used ... ;-)

+1 for hide/mask switch pedal.

My concept is :

not 6748930045384578 combinations ... but 3 or 4 ... but dynamic, with realistic attack in the sound of guitar, "transparent" on the pick ups of guitar, and corpous =))))))

Fretted, your job is really appreciated in the world !

I hope in a improvement of crunch sound.

Regards !!

It might be kind of cool if the unused pedals were darkened, like masked in shadow?

 Kind of lost me on that one? Do you mean like guitarzen said! darken or shade different the unused FX?

I guess he means to make the pedals not in use invisible.. but with current designs this will look odd with a blank space in there.

I suggest a seperate window for the pedals? Maybe toggleable so that it pops up underneath the amp gui?

Not so bothered about that really.

Keep on doing what you're doing. Each version rocks, and each version will blow the previous (and all other commericial sims) out of the water! :D

Just a question for Fretted Synth, and you are allowed not to answer to it :D Does FreeAmp use Waveshaping or Physics Modeling (like Simulanalog Guitar Suite with thousands of equations) ?

:hihi: Can I answer that (Yes, No, Maybe) :hihi:

One thing I am pretty certain of is! the distortion in my amps is different from what others have done? and the out and out design (signal flow) of the amp is way different then what others are trying to do? Sound matters, the rest don't :)

So you have written "no" :hihi:

That was a question which is I think very interesting... I'd like to know for each guitar amp simulation product, commercial or not, what is the modeling method used, and how each one sounds in an absolute point of view...

Something else, these two methods are the only one used, maybe some others are interesting ?

And you are right, sound is the most important thing
