1:B4 II (this is why I bought Receptor)
2: Colossus (I love their Steinway B)
3: RMX!
4; MrRay 2.2 (as good as Lounge Lizard (at least the early one, have not opened this version - and MrRay is free!)
5: sfz (for soundfonts, one of the few apps that fully supports instant-load presets}
6: FM7 - i was an early DX7 adopter
7: MinimogueVA (I really should giveMiniminsta a try, but this is so good, and free...)
8: Garritan JABB
9: USB Plugsound Free (waiting for Pro to ship, sounds very good and fast loading presets)
10: Slayer II (takes major tweaking, but it will handle it)
2: Colossus (I love their Steinway B)

1. Ambience
2. Spectralive
3. sfz
4. Kjaerhus Classic Reverb
5. Kjaerhus Classic Limiter
6. Kjaerhus Classic EQ
7. mda Piano
8. Clone Ensemble
9. Bandstand
10. StrataVarious
Eventually, I'm gonna have to get RealGuitar 2 -- I demo'd RG 1.5, and it was amazing, but I don't own it yet so I didn't put it on the list. And I suspect Bandstand is gonna be easily replaced by Garritan Personal Orchestra.

Have you tried Ivory's D10 German Steinway? Which plugin do you use for bass? Which for pads? What about horns?thesoundsmith wrote:1:B4 II (this is why I bought Receptor)

Just a quick note that you can buy the Scarbee plugins on www.jrrshop.com for about $69.00 each. I believe that by using the code word "forum", you will get you an additional 10% off their listed selling price. I have to agree that everything that Scarbee makes is great! Also, JRR Shop are good people to deal with.c3boy wrote:The other 4 I have'nt purchased yet but will be

I'm always surprised when ANYONE uses this over MrRay73 - even it's author says the 73 is a much better emulation! I love MrRay73, but can't stand 2.2thesoundsmith wrote:MrRay 2.2

Funny, just the opposite for me. I use MrTramp and MrRay22. MrRay73 sounds muddy and undefined to me.Watto wrote:I'm always surprised when ANYONE uses this over MrRay73 - even it's author says the 73 is a much better emulation! I love MrRay73, but can't stand 2.2thesoundsmith wrote:MrRay 2.2![]()
I guess that's why both are still offered. To each his own...

Jamstix
Dimension Pro
Manystation
Vanguard
eJ / Toxic
Manyguitar
Slayer
Ambience
GlaceVerb
KarmaFX Deelay
None of the above use dongles, pace, or challenge-response copy protection.
If Dimension and Manystation romplers are "disqualified" because they use samples, then I would rank String Machine and MrTramp next in line...

Hmmm, and you've owned a Rhodes at some point? Did you try playing with the knobs?EnzymeX wrote:Funny, just the opposite for me. I use MrTramp and MrRay22. Yes, I had a Rhodes 73 Mk II back in the day, but in fairness I didn't like the stock sound back then either, and I could not afford to get it hot rodded.
You are correct that MrRay73 is more authentic. I just find MrRay22 more useful in context.
