I want to modulate the prefill parameter on a comb module. I want to modulate it with velocity, but I want the prefill to stay at 0 unless the velocity goes up over say 100.

Any way to do this? Maybe those nice MMix modules?

D'oh...

I always wanted to add those Key/Velocity Scalers (like in the oscillators) as independent modulators, but havn't done so far...

No real idea on this one...

Maybe...

Use an FMO as noise source? - Use feedback mode, turn all the way up. Use short envelope on Volume, with Volume itself set to 0.00. Use "More FMO" tab to control Velocity range...?

wow, creative idea! thanks, that should work, and better than prefill cause I would have control over the FMO noise, can filter it, etc!

using the key/velocity scalers as modulators would be nice. please do add that at some point :)

you asked if people had new mmix ideas, but this is the first time i thought of something... a new mmix option so that the constant acts like a threshold

that would effect not just key/velocity but it could also be used to clip an lfo in interesting ways. could be two possibilities, one that once it passes the threshold, it is immediately at its full value and the second where immediately past the threshold was like moving up from 0

cheers

Maybe add a couple of tracking generators? And a 3 input min/max MMix unit.

what is a tracking generator?

It's used to re-map a mod source to a custom nonlinear scale. Like the velscale on each oscillator. It's actually exactly what Urs wrote in his message but I missed that the first time I read this thread. =)

Thanks... Where do I find such a thing?
