Direct Box Suggestions for LIVE performance

hello,

so i started using my receptor in my live rig last week. it performed very well, and i will continue to use it along with my nord electro 2. however i did have problems with my amp cutting in and out. this has happened a few times now, even after getting the amp back from the shop.

so i'm thinking one way to get rid of this problem without spending tons of money on a new amp would be to get a direct box that can take multiple inputs (bare minimum of 2 inputs for mono feeds from the receptor and the nord...but would love 4 inputs for stereo from each). i'm just having difficulty finding out the route i should go with this.

it would be nice to be able to combine the channels into 1 mono output, AND with the flick of a switch have 2 outputs so that a club that has enough channels can have an input for the receptor and one for the nord and mix them himself. and of course i would want an output somehow going to my amp so i can monitor my playing.

just wondering if anyone has a similar set up or experience with direct boxes that you could recommend. thanks!

I don't understand the connection. A direct box will only change impedance/load, to your amp, which should not be causing it to cut out. Do you have a simple preamp laying around? That could act as a temporary test, and would function as a direct for this purpose.

It's all about the music. I keep telling myself that...

i'm wanting the direct box so i can send a signal directly from my keyboards to the live mixing board...but also send a signal to my amp so i can hear what i'm playing. am i making any sense or still confusing? :)

I use a Behringer eurorack, it has main out with monitor out and it is only 1U with 8 stereo pairs.

I use a Behringer UB502.
I pan one keyboard to the left and one to the right. The left output is fed to a DI for FOH and the right is fed to a DI for FOH.
Then I use the AUX/mon output to go to my mackie powered monitor (mono).
This lets me have my own mix on stage without disturbing what I send to the FOH guy/girl.
If the FOH system was short of inputs you could pan both keyboards to the left and submix on stage to one output (left).
And the behringer does sit nicely on top of my Trinity for easy knob twidling.
