jorgen wrote:You can resize the sample clip just you like resize any other parts. So if you want it play in 4 bars or 6 bars, thats up to you. The pitch will be adjusted automatically to fit tempo in resample mode (including real-time tempo changes).
In stretch mode, it will keep the pitch though...

Cool feature !jorgen wrote:Ok I see, yes it could be useffull.
Btw, if you just want to repeat a block of parts, you can still use ctrl-d (it works with multiple parts as well), if you want a gap, you can use ctrl+arrow keys to move the block of parts while they are still selected. Or you can add a marker clip that groups the parts you want to move/copy.
To copy without ghosting use ctrl+shift
XT2 does offer automation in audio and midi clips as well as seprate automation track...you can stack or overlay (as in screeshot) and easely show/hide automation.

Ive also separated midi/audio input/output into 4 comps (in v1 it was master in and master out). When you create a new project in XT2, it will automatically create comps for all devices you have enabled in Setup. Lets say you have enabled 2 midi in devices and 4 ASIO output channels, it will then create 2 midi in comps and 2 audio out comps (2 stereo pairs)

jorgen wrote:Hiya, I know things are taking ages and I dont like being behind schedule I even thinks its very frustrating, but to me this is not all about energyXT2, but the upcoming version as well (3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0...). Even though XT1.3 has a big userbase and the sales are steady each month, I saw this as my big chance to make sure there really IS a future for XT in the long run. Im working really hard on this update, and my highest wish is to get back to the xt-geeky-community-friday-beta-cycle![]()
Im sorry for the delay but XT1.3 really needed a rewrite (XT2 its even written in another language) because its about the "omg, THIS is the energXT I really wanted"
well, thanks to all the great feedback from the community, I may even happen...
Id better get back to coding
btw, there will be 3 main stages of XT2 testing, more info later...
cheers

Jorgen, if you don't mind, what distro(s) of Linux are you using?
Jorgen wrote:Ive been using many distros, now Im mostly using ubuntu. No special reason, but I do like that it is on a single install CD and Im a fan of GNOME (nice and simple). XT2 does not requeire GNOME or KDE though.
I'm not going to work on support for windows VSTs (dll) on linux, but rather do what I can to get devs to code native plugins for linux. Ill make some example plugin instruments with a gui framework that works for windows and linux. Hoping that plugin development will rocket speed on linux in 2006/2007 There will be 3 beta stages for XT2 testing, and already in stage 1 devs can start making linux plugins for XT2.
moonlite wrote:will both (native VSTs and through wine) work, or will xt2 be concentrated only on linux-native vst?
jorgen wrote:Native only. Someone could make a thin native VST layer for loading win VSTs via wine though, but my aim is to write linux software/plugins and not making windows software running on linux.
XT2 comes with synth/sampler, audio track, drum track and multi effect processor.

Teaser screen posted by jorgen in the "Screen post Friday?" thread. You can sort of see the XT2 horizontal mixer.

Someone then enlarged it.:
