Well, hoestly, POCO is great (have one), but Scope wins in effects also, i just name the best ones:
Saturator, standart Modulation FX (all of them) - nothing equal, really
ISAN EQ - best EQ IMO, better than Sony Oxford
ISAN Compressors - same, Saturation stage is incredible
Vinco - better than UAD (had one also)
D-Mute Comp - free and also great
SPL Attacker etc - nothing equal really, save maybe the POCO Sony Oxford thing
Celmo Tape Delays & other Vintage Effects - some are just insanly good
Sonic Timeworks EQ and Comp - also superb, not as good as Isan (maybe the Eq),
but better than the standart PoCO stuff
Verbs - well Masterverb Pro, Sonic Timeworks are somewhat special, but better than VST stuff save maybe CSR/Wizoo, the new ones by the CSR guy are superb, also PL series and some others
i just don't remember.
Also, Scope Effects are simply much cheaper than PoCO'high-end stuff.
(Despite my praise, note that the newer Scope FX need more DSP than comparable PoCo stuff).
@ aMUSED: i forgot the name of the free plate one, but have it somewhere on my HD, if you drop me a pm with mail adress, i send it out to you.

has anyone here compared the poco verbs (especially the better ones) to an m3000? it strikes me that for around $1800 for the poco plus verbs, the m3000 might be a much cheaper way of achieving similar results.

way to go ...jplanet wrote:I got rid of my Poco, used the money to build another dual-core workstation. With Arts Acoustic or CSR you get that "dsp card quality" now anyway. When I first bught the Poco there were no native reverbs that could compete, but now that's changing...
i also wouldn't buy the poco because of reverbs ...
there's other stuff that the poco handles better ...
