Researching Receptor for Kontakt

Greetings!
I've been following the news and progress of Receptor since its inception. It seems that a great deal of the marketing is targeted towards live use, so I never seriously considered purchasing one for my studio needs. However...
I'm finding that despite having a decent computer rig (a couple of years old, but still good), any typical project I'm working on seems to really tax my system resources. Any production momentum I get going seems to get constantly disrupted by this elaborate ballet of adjusting latency settings, recording tracks, disabling effects, bouncing down submixes, freezing tracks, applying effects but disabling them for smooth playback, composing with MIDI hardware and then assigning those tracks to the sample libraries I really want to use for the final production, etc., etc., etc.
Enter Receptor, and I guess my main questions (yes, I've searched KVR and other forums, and the Muse site, watched the videos, and am still reading the Receptor manual). My main intended use for Receptor would be to run Kontakt and PMI Boesendorfer, possibly BFD and AAS LoungeLizard 3 and some others. Because I use Kontakt extensively for orchestration, I would absolutely need this app to run in roughly the same manner as it does on my host system.
I'm a little confused about the setup and configuration though. Can I simply create instruments and multis as I do now, but load them on Receptor, or do they have to be custom-configured as Receptor patches? (I'm not a big "front-panel" user, so it's not like I'd be setting a lot of stuff from there!) In other words, is there any difference between using Kontakt on my host computer versus accessing it via Receptor remote? Using UniWire, can I still utilize multiple audio outputs for stem mixes and/or specialized processing? What are some of the limitations to using Kontakt on Receptor? Where am I going to lose flexibility?
Any information specifically related to Kontakt running on Receptor, including the ease of installation and configuration, is greatly appreciated.

Get gigasampler especially if you're doing orchestration. That way you can spend all your time writing instead of trying to get the system to work. Any PC with a P4 will do.
Just my 2 cents.

My point was not about switching sampling platforms, but rather about making the platform which I've committed to (for better or for worse) and, ultimately, the one I'm already intimately familiar with work more efficiently on my system. It's not Kontakt which is hampering my workflow, it's the computer.
