Who wants to bet that Midiworks posts in here within the next two weeks to say that a new feature or the reworking of some part of the amp or other held up development, but that it should be out later in the fall?

The 'Jim' thing is a slight, and perhaps unfunny, tweak of a classic Star Trek line. May not have travelled well..MrM wrote:First; my name is not Jim.
And.... It's entirely possible that you know more than I do on the subject, as I've only dropped in a dozen times or so. But the thread is over two years old. Whatever he first conceived of doing is long past its sell date.MrM wrote:Second; perhaps I know more?
Maybe something will eventually (or even soon) come of it. I'd love to be pleasantly surprised. What will surprise me a lot is if the plug can compete at the multi-hundred dollar level against what's already out there...

I must say that the development cycle of this plugin is amazing.
Can we expect V1.01 (the one fixing the most important bugs) to be out in spring 2008?
However, I am right now testing another new (or well, majorly updated) ampsim, and it seems to become an amazing thing. At least as good as anything I ever heard from this stuff. And it's actually on my harddrive already.
Midiworks, as sad as it might be, there'd be nobody left buying your plugin. Ok, unless it's the mother of amp sims. Which it surely will be, no? Oh yes, I know, it'll be worth the wait...
Sorry, Rene, it won't. And please don't ever ask me again to "soon" do some testing for you, that's just pathetic. You started something that you're not up to by either your programming skills or your lifestyle - I don't know what it is, but it's gotta be one of those. Either way, you're not a programmer I'd put any trust into. Something you need to do when you purchase a 200something bucks plugin. Your credibility is already down the shitter.

Well on the other side, nobody paid Rene anything apart from fluctuating interest, so he doesn't really owe anyone anything.
Maybe people are getting agressive towards him because somehow they can't stand the frustration of putting faith into a plug that has not existed for more than 2 years.
When it's released, well, it's released, and only then you can cross your fingers for it to sound dope.

Who are you to say these things ? Midiworks must be alone to develop this plug-in, so he does what he wants, and has obligations for nobody... Let him going to his speed...

Indeed. So far this is looking incredibly promising. Easy handling, great default sound, but you can still tweak it to death if that's your passion (such as in detailed manipulation of tube settings etc.). Embedded VST hosting is quite something as well, at least if you plan on using such things in a live context.Mutant wrote: AFAIK Sascha's talking about RevalverMkII.
I'm not sure whether I'm allowed to come up with sound examples, also, right now I'm extremly short on time, but I'll see if I can get something for you folks during the next weeks or so.
