Jason,
I've noticed that you highjack any thread about hosts/sequencers by advertising for the oh-so-holy Reaper..
Man, we already got it: you love Reaper more than yourself..

But could you now please stop that!

Does Logic have mouse wheel support yet?

Yes, it could be very interesting. I just find it amusing the way they put so much effort into the look of one plugin, and so little into some of the others. I guess they are a large team though, no doubt with many different levels of skill.

I do wish that they had been more comprehensive with the GUI overhaul. In Sonar 5 some aspects look great, while others (such as many of the dialog boxes) look very out of date. They gave the MIDI effects a new gloss, but didn't get around to the older audio effects. Keeping a unified look is imho quite important because without that the programme feels somewhat cobbled together. I will be very interested to see how much the new colour schemes help.
I think the Kjaerhus plug looks beautiful - the inclusion of a $200 plugin and Radius, which is a $400 option for Logic users, in a $190 upgrade seals the deal for me!
Certainly good VFM, yes 8)
BTW, I thought the samples sounded great - I have a hard time getting even bass to sound good when I quantize it with Live. I'll be curious if it's usefull for more polyphonic material, especially guitars.
I've spent a lot of time testing the 5 different warp modes in Live with a range of material, including altering for example the grain sizes to get the best results. I think the audio samples Cakewalk posted sounded similar in quality to typical Ableton Live results, which makes me wonder why Radius sells for $400 to Logic users (although it helps to further explain Live's phenomonal success in that market sector  ).

From a personal perspective, if the timestretch in Sonar is better than Live's for DAW purposes, then that would sell the Sonar upgrade to me straight up! But if the quality is only similar, it would be a waste of my time working out how the Sonar timestretch works, as I've already put in the time learning how to get the best out of Live.

I am just mentioning similarities between other hosts. I also mentioned FL studio. Which as of now i use much more that REAPER. I dont even OWN reaper as of yet. I think its time for people to stop being so sensitive and get aware ;)

It was a joke. Macs don't have mouse wheels

:dog: :nutter: Yes yes. It should be Kjaerhus. Sorry guys, sorry to Torben and sorry to Voxengo. Damn speed... :hihi:

wait, this is GAG-1 in disguise? And I was about to ask if we can probably see a native version of that. Looks totally cool.

Just out of interest:
What's bundled so far from RGC, Kjaerhus and Voxengo in Sonar that's also available as "native" plugins?

GAG, GAC... Both start with GA. XD

Nah seriously... so it's the Gold Compressor then?
My mistake for misinterpreting the famous "gag-ball" *cough - awesome commercial btw!* with the Gold Compressor. ;)

God I like this skin. Torben... you should offer custom skins for your plugins! Like... seriously.

Bzzz. Two strikes! It's the Golden Audio Channel... exactly the same function set as far as can be seen, except the graphics wizkid doing this GUI obviously felt coolness was way more important than, say, giving people access to the controls of both comps and both EQs simultaneously... :hihi:

Your joke is straight from the eighties, ie. heavily outdated and dumb as such.

The vast majority of mac users that actually need to be productive have replaced the atrocious mac mice with something more functional and ergonomic.

Wheels work just fine and are utilised throughout the OSX (and indeed in logic) if need be, as well as the possible extra mouse buttons (up to god only knows how many).

Good points, and in all fairness I could probably familiarize myself with those Warp Modes and get better results. Around this time every year, I also find myself caught between Sonar and Live and every year, Cakewalk does just enough to keep me in the fold while Ableton falls just short for me.

I swear, if they'd pay some attention to the arrange view and MIDI editing, I would have been there at Live 5! I know there's some fun stuff in Live 6, but it sure looks like most of the work went into multicore support and Intel Mac conversion.

As it is, it looks like the two will converge within a version or two, so I won't have to make any difficult decisions  .

But don't you think it hilarious and a little bizarre that Mac meeces are still one button? This from the company that thinks its UI is so advanced? Even Mickey Mouse has 4 fingers.

This is the old "not invented here" thing.

You know, in History and Philosophy of Science they say that rather than new theories displacing old ones by force of logic (ie by believers in one theory being persuaded by new evidence or new argument) they are displaced because the proponents of the old theory simply die out - to wit The Steady State Universe.

It looks as though Apple will have to wait for the one button guys to die out before they can spec a multi-button mouse.
