first of all, i love the total recall feature .. people will do collabs much easier

I've tested it trying to make a track with it... ive found the following issues:

(sorry if these are already implemented or if i've overlooked it... or if there is another way of doing it)

Editing features that i miss :

- Simple X 2 & X 4 zoom in the keyboard mapping window (the way it is i can harly click the desired zone - im using 1024x1280 that's not so high)

- Hi key and low key are displayed as midi numbers - that is cool for some stuff but people are musicians, not mathematicians

- Envelopes do not display any info at all - it should display miliseconds (this is essencial)

- The volume in multi view should display db and the panning should display %

- Selecting more than one zone in the keyb mapping windows with the mouse should be possible & editing the settings would affect the mouse selected zones (including sample start)

- In the sample edit window there should be a PLAY button

- Dragging a sample from the browser and dropping that sample in a specific key in the keyboard mapping should be possible

- Selecting a sample in the browser should preview it (an option in the browser to enable this)

- Up and Down cursor keys should cycle through samples (ive found myself doing that already several times...with no luck...ehehe)

other stuff :

- Total recall should be possible to set by programm - i want to save small programs with the song but really big programs i dont

- When using the total recall feature directwave should compress sample data to save space in saved project files

- It should import mute zones from Battery

That's all for now. this sampler can become amazing :D

also ... different outputs per zone is really needed

I received my Directwave Version today, i have to say it is very very useful. Thank you very much for this cool sampler.

Some suggestions i have:

- would be nice if Presets can be found over a search function within Directwave
- Phaser Effect needs an Update, is useless somehow
- if you have an VSTi loaded and sampled a patch, it would be useful to mute the VSTi to compare it with the sample
- I couldnt find out how to increase/decrease Output assign no. without entering via keyboard
- Disk streaming would be cool

Thats all for now. :D

Keep up the good work.

hi!!!

first off, direct wave is nearly perfect. not too bloated, but it has all of the important stuff. love it for sure.

BUT....!

is there any plans for mp3 support in the future?

if there was, itd be the most useful thing ive seen in a while.

is there any hope of this, or no?

thanks!!
peace.

You never know, but I doubt it. It seems like a bad idea to use (low quality) mp3 samples as the basis for an instrument (a DW bank).

yea, i know, mp3s suck......

but i NEED something that will let me set cues in mp3s, on the fly......

DW is perrrrrrfect, cept it doesnt load the mp3s. i thought maybe it was something simple that might get tossed in at some point. oh well, we'll see.

thanks for the quick reply!

peace.

...what are the future plans for this sampler (if any at all) ? after some months of its release it seems olnly imported formats are getting updates/fixes... its not incomplete as it is....but if it wants to compete with the big guys, and if it wants my money...it will have to get some extra features...

...Like at least asigning a different output per zone, and sample preview in browser. Those are pretty essential.

I can't seem to figure out how to layer sounds - there seems to be no way to change the midi channel in the "Multi" page and there is no mention of the multi page in the help file.

Is it possible ??

you cant change the midi channel...but you can change the program number ...it ends in the same result i guess..

different output per zone!!

Looks cool - i'd also say that multiple outputs per group/different outputs per zone would be useful for those wanting to use it for drums especially.

you can layer sounds by creating a new zone then double clicking on a sample in the browser, it will add it to the current patch. As far as I can tell, there is no way of changing the midi channel. That would be a great/essential feature so that you can stack presets/patches.

-note/velocity crossfading.

-zone "groups", with options like round-robin or random to cycle thru the zones in the group. great for naturalness, to have overlapping zones in a group that picks randomly which zone to play each keypress...
