I got my Receptor back yesterday after waiting 6 weeks. I had sent it to Muse because it had a problem with crashing and rebooting. Seems as though they could not get it to do it there and the tech thought maybe it was caused by to many samples /overheating etc. I insisted that it would reboot on it's own numerous times upon startup with no samples at all loaded. Finally on the day it was to be sent back to me the tech tried it one more time and wouldn't you know it -it crashed. He called me and told me that he could confirm that the problem I have had since it was new was not my imagination. He also told me he would put in a new mother board and probably a power supply. Several days went by without further correspondence so I called him again. He told me they would offer to do a upgrade to REV C (whatever that is) for X$. I authorized them to do that. I also gave my credit card info at that time to pay for the (upgrade?) To my horror I checked the RMA on plugoramma and there was all my credit card info. When I called the tech about this the following monday, he told me that they did not know the info would show up. I sorta believe that. I insisted that my CC info be removed from plugorama, which he said had to be done by someone in admin. Regardless, I now believe that I have paid to have a faulty motherboard replaced under the pretense of an upgrade. Anyway I opened the box and immediately heard something rattling inside. I opened it up and found a loose screw laying on the motherboard. So what's the deal anyway. I have gotten maybe 20 hours of productive use out of this thing since purchase and how discouraging a purchase it has been.

When I bought it, I was not able to register it without great effort because evidently somebody forgot to program it's serial number into the system. There has been numerous cases of this happening to others.

I bought it specifically for Colossus. When it started it's crashing/rebooting thing tech support told me it probably needed more memory - which I then puchased another gig from Muse to max it out.

So now I have pretty close to $2k invested in Receptor and I get her back and there's a screw loose laying on the mother board. I am almost afraid to power it up.

Need I say more.

Great News. I got up the nerve, hooked it up and - IT works! In fact it works like it never has before. I can't get more than one bar to show up on the panel even running the Colossus Steinway. It is a lot quieter than before also. Me so happy. Hopefully it will quietly sit in the rack from now on and just do it's thing.

How many $ to have the motherboard updated to Rev C? Sounds like the processor is faster....I want it!
