Ok. I am stuck. I am a fairly savvy guy when it comes to networking and I am having a bear of a time here.
I have a Mac Book Pro that I've been connecting to the Receptor to transfer DLLs. The Mac makes things so easy. I plug it in, CMD-K, type in the IP and it connects. The mac's have a way of being able to make a crossover cable out of a non-crossover cable. I can go Mac to PC, Mac to Receptor with no issues. I have a router/wireless access point that I can plug the Receptor into and then Plug the Mac into the router and it works great that way too.
Now the PC. Since Uniwire is not Universal Binary yet, I have to run it on the PC. I needed to anyways but I was hoping to run it with ableton Live and DP on the MBP. Back to the PC. The crossover straight up doesnt work. Im suspecting an issue with my Realtek Ethernet device.
I can go into the router like I did with the Mac. But the latency isnt great. Ok, its bad. 1024 samples minimum. Also, when Uniwire is instantiated, Sonar (5 PE) CRAWLS. Midi editing, window switching, everything is pathetic.
If I am running the receptor as a straight MIDI device, no problems. Of couse, why would there be?
Help!?!?

Are you running anything wireless? UniWire (accent on "Wire") does not work wirelessly.
If you use cables, have you tried to enter the Receptor's address manually in the UniWire plug-in?

Ive tried it all. I just moved over to my non-audio PC with an SiS 900 Ethernet chip set and bingo. It all came together. Of course, without audio I cant fully test it but it connects remote, and I can instantiate Uniwire and feed it midi. Havent checked getting audio back though.
I think the Realtek chipset (RTS8139 I think) has crossover problems.
Have you experienced this at all?

GOT IT! Wow and it took forever. I was *this close* to being done with the whole mess.
MUSE, take note, this might be helpful in the future.
I looked into the Realtek RTS8139 chipset and using a crossover cable but no one had any answers. I started trouble shooting and here is what worked.
In the configuration for the device (from Network Connections and Right-Click to properties to Configuration) under the Advanced tab, I had to hard set the duplexing to 10Mbps Full Duplex. It was pre-set to an automatic detect setting.
I also had to make sure that NetBios was set to Default or On in the TCP/IP configuration under Advanced and WINS.
If anyone has any questions or needs help or more detail, PM me and I would be glad to help.
Now Im feeling good about this thing!
