Tribal House Beatz wrote:Out of curiosity i ran a little test with FL STUDIO 6 and CUBASE SX 3!...I imported the same loop into both hosts at the same tempo. Cranked up the volume too 100% in Fl studio or 0DB...Did the same in Cubase...Volume at 0db.......no effects.....no eq....no limiter.....no normalization....NOTHIN!!!! Both master chennels in both hosts were at 0db

Rendered both files as a wav at 44.1khz 16 bit..

Heres what FL STUDIO 6 sounded like
http://mysite.verizon.net/bennybonez/CL ... ST%201.wav

Heres what Cubase SX 3 sounded like
http://mysite.verizon.net/bennybonez/CL ... ST%202.wav

Explain to me...Why is one louder and more full sounding...That being the cubase one if i kept both volumes at the same exact level and rendering at the same exact quality??????? :x :x

Is the FL studio sound engine a tad weak????

jeezuz!!! it was an honest question. there IS a volume difference. He is not saying one is BETTER, and now that it has been explained to him as being a 3db volume difference, is it not kosher to wonder why? or is that just when FL is involved.

Yeah, we should probably be a little kinder to noob questions like that; he doesn't know that we've heard this stuff before.

For the obvious reason that untrained ears tend to hear louder=better.

Louder is much better. I am definitely buying Cubase 4 so I can get more oomph. Does anyone know of they put a limit on volume in Cubase Studio?

It means he's asking if it's weak, nothing more. Your sensitivity really runs away with you sometimes.
