do i need a special file downloader dealie? i've tried d/l 3 of them, they come out as ".rar" files with a R5 logo (?), not sure what to do...

No you just install it on your system and then you can right-click on the rar files and extract them in a subfolder.

Downloaded all that in just five minutes with my download manager.

Woah, some kickass stuff among these!
So far I had some massive fun with Brams Lunchbox! That'll be quite some useful beat thingy to have when nothing but your laptop is available!
(Btw, I wish some true low latency ASIO driver mode was available...)

Now on to all the others!

No. You download (it'll either download things straight or you may have to use rightclick > save as), then install WinRar or 7-Zip and open the .rar archive with it and extract the content as usual.
