GLoop - a looping recorder by GVST - works with Receptor!

It's available on the beta page of GVST:

http://www.gvst.co.uk/beta.htm

Basically, it's a looping recorder, which can be triggered by MIDI, and can sync to your host's tempo. Graham will explain in more detail, but I'm rapt with this plug, and it works in Receptor! It's both simple to use and very flexible (which is what Graham does so very well) - check it out!

Oh, and please, if you use it, donate to this very generous developer!

I'll explain how I use this:

I have a tap tempo pedal (Ploytec's 34one), and a MIDI triggering pedal (TC Electronic G-Minor). I first tap the tempo of the song using the 34one, and then arm the GLoop by clicking the right hand switch of the G-Minor. GLoop then waits for an audio signal (I usually start with drumloop from Stylus RMX), and records for exactly however many beats you select when setting it up (I've got 16 beats, or 4 bars). It then automatically loops that (as I have that option selected), perfect audio quality, of course. I then click the left hand switch of the GLoop to start and stop the drumloop. If I decide to overdub a bass line, for example, I click the right hand switch while GLoop is looping, and it starts recording. If I click the right hand switch again while it's recording, GLoop clears the last pass.

There are way more options than this, but I thought I'd run you through the way I do it. It's got quite a few options, and you can use it in more depth than I do, so have a go!

Thanks for the information. I have been looking for a product like this for Receptor. I will try it out.

I'm surprised by the non-reaction - there's been plenty of talk about needing a good looper on this forum - here it is!

I just dl'ed it, will check it out when I get back from AES. I think your initial post did not state it worked with Receptor, and I thought there were no recording/playback options for it.

If this is usable live, it will be a great addition to the repertoire. Thanks, Watto.

You mean the original title I had for this thread? I realised it wasn't telling you much - sorry about that. Thought people would be interested enough to read the first post, which has all the info in it.

Just got back from AES, got a gig tonight, I'll not get a chance to play with this for a few days - but seems like a cool tool...

Lots of fun stuff, the Pro is big news (for me, anyway) and I saw some nice gear from Cranesong (love the HEDD converter) and Manley, the update to Arturia's Moog Modular is great, but they are not going to Receptorize any time soon, despite my pleas...

I've just uploaded a new version of GLoop. Details are over in the Effects forum: here.

Yeah, sorry about the double thread, mate - I'm genuinely surprised that more Receptor users aren't interested :?

Anyone who is, head over to the other thread :)
