What are the rules concerning updates? I had the idea that the deadline was an absolute cutoff point - ready or not, and that voting would also take into account usability and stability at that point - if it's OK to post bugfixes before voting has taken place the cutoff gets blurred - are people voting for the product that was released yesterday or the new improved version? Although it's perfectly fine that devs should be working to improve their designs it's potentially problematic in this context and now the deadline is extended we could now have a whole month of updates - some maybe not just fixing bugs but adding or improving features - I think there needs to be some clarification of boundaries here.

I'd second that.... why not post all the updates after the contest is over.

yes, but there is a different between fixing bugs and adding features.
when majken starts talking about creating a grizzly-mini that might be a little bit out of bounds I think. Still bugfixes has to be allowed, we are freeware developers after all and I dont own all host's nor does the few that betatested for me.

So in conclusion bugfixes = yes while updates and new features = no.

I agree, but was the grizzly mini talk really meant as "as an update for my entry for the competition" ? I thought he just talked about making another version and releasing that later on, as a separate thingy-mojo-gadgety.

The previous discussion here in this thread was about whether to allow bugfixes during the voting or not as far as I understood it. I really don't feel I should have a say in that discussion, since I _do_ want to update Anna, and at the same time I get it if people see it as unfair. It's up to Tuz really, but I guess everyone should be able to express their views upon the matter atleast.

What I was trying to point out is that bugfixes is one thing and updates are another and that while I think that bugfixes (errors/crashes/to heavy cpu/general things not working) shall be allowed, I do not thing that updates as in new features should be allowed.

This is fair I think, I forgot a wantEvents(); in my resume so repeatler wont work in audiomulch and cubase, this I to be permitted to fix. I do not want to add extra features (like tubgirlimageremoval).

Then we're taking the same stance here :)

Once voting starts tomorrow I don't plan to update any of the files on KVR until the contest is over.

Any bug fix updates should be got to me or Tuz before lunch time GMT Wednesday to get uploaded here.

Post

Oh, and I've just updated the VideoVST download.

Post

That sounds fair, it's a level playing field then for the voting :)

Good chaps Ben & tuz!

After that one has to stop updating or will have to host them oneself? Tuz mentioned earlier that one might have to host them oneself as you might note be able to maintain updates.
