Well I just used it for mastering my finished official Imogen heap mix,.... the 33609 is all over this track. I personally love it, pumps lovely.. see for yourself, only remember that myspace really messes with the sound quality of a mix, but you should get the general idea. I used it on the master bus with L2 maximiser set to just catch 2db of peaks, I used the 33609 to squash the mix

If a person wants to buy a additional card new then it's best to get the flexi pack (only $599 at some stores) then to pay $399 for a project pack, for the flexi pack has a nice size voucher in wich to purchase the neve 33609 as well as another great plug of choice with. So the voucher knocks $500 from the $599 price of the flexi leaving you with only a $99 charge for the card. This is by far better then the $399 charge for the project pack and its redundant stock plugins.bleebsen wrote:You'd have to buy an additional project pack (399$), the one with the most basic plugins. All your other UAD plugins will run on it too, then.
If the flexipack is too much then it's probably best to get a used card off ebay, but as you know you take a chance when buying used hardware.
For anyone interested: I think the flexi can be purchased for only $599 here- http://www.altomusic.com/ the item and its price are not listed on the website, you'd have to call the store. Their phone number is on the site.

Plus... if you buy an additional card before 31 Dec 2006, you also get another $100 voucher off software plug purchases.sounddesigner wrote:If a person wants to buy a additional card new then it's best to get the flexi pack (only $599 at some stores) then to pay $399 for a project pack, for the flexi pack has a nice size voucher in wich to purchase the neve 33609 as well as another great plug of choice with. Hehe, see, you could even be saving money by spending some
I wasn't aware of those tricks. I just bought two project packs, FlexiPaks weren't available at that time. I got some vouchers too, tough.

My favorite Heap song. The original is a beautiful tune on it's own.Spaceman Sounds wrote:Well I just used it for mastering my finished official Imogen heap mix,.... the 33609 is all over this track. Cheers Lordnelson
I wanted to stay as true to the origional as possible. She has a great voice, and when her manager gave me a copy of the cd, I didn't think I'd like the album, but it's really grown on me a lt.
But back to the 33609, some will find it a bit too coloured, I love it though, really warm for a plugin.

Not so thrilled with it either. Came bundled with my Studiopak... not so sure I would've bought it otherwise. But I used it in a track where it's compressing the shit out of a slapbass sample, nicely, and I guess that stereo M/S trick is cool (the "drumloop" preset).HalloweenJack wrote:I know its heresy and I'm marching in the clueless parade, but I have never been able to get the Fairchild to do anything nice to my tracks...
I can't get over how good the LA2A is! And DSP efficient too!
