THere is a manual, which explains it very well.
But the tricky thing is that.... wel... you have to install it first before to be able to read the manual !
If the plugin was a simple dll + a pdf manual in a ziupped folder, it might be easier.
The manual of our plugin has been localized (I think we are the only one with a localized manual) and it will install the correct manual according to the language selected in the installer. Also the winamp version of our plugin needs to be placed into the winamp folder, so it's not only a simple extract.

I understand your needs in making an installer instead of a DLL. This is just that putting somewhere on the net a pdf or html version of the manual (or here in a dedicated thread), could help to convince people to try your plugin if they fear the installer so much.
And you're right : i appreciated to have a french manual !

BTW, you're right :
- the sound is good
- the GUI is very nice

...And, as the thread's title is "which one is your fav", and as Leonardo talks about "making his homework" the good way, i'd like to share my impressions in going a bit deeper in the trying of these plugins :
Most of the ones i tried are good, but i have the little impression that most oof them were released a little bit too soon, and that 90% of the parameters to take car of are ok, but 10% needs fixing :
Some are stable, good-sounding but are cpu hog, some are fine and innovative in what they do but are too much "one trick pony", and some are good for some features, but very average on some others... And some also could have tried to make a little more personal GUI...

So i guess Pushtech won't be my number one vote (because it is a "eq", and i think i will vote for something more innovativeon the concept side), but as it is -very- good at what it does, with a lot of care given to GUI, cpu, stability, presets, manula, etc. I really think it will be among the top5.

That's good - when I first tried it I was hoping it would have these possilities - at the moment I use Sounder for this sort of composition but Collide is potentially more flexible. I didn't realise it used samples - I thought the sounds were synthesised by it. Thanks :)

don't know what happened there,but i just noticed it all struggling when i was online at the same time,the crackles were much less when i came off.

complete: nope, I'm wondering why your beta-testers didn't citicize two painfully obvious things (or did they?): first of all there's a master-gain missing and then unused bands use as many cpu-cycles as used ones.

Also: What the manual doesn't explain and what I don't understand is how both a pull and a push of the low frequencies at the same time works - both controls surely do not cancel each other out so what exactly does a push, and what does a pull? :?


Apart from this however it is very good and I love the gui so I have started a thread in the 'effects'-forum about it. :-D

I'm going to guess (as this what it sounds like is happen) is that Pull emphasizes undershoot. That's one of the things the Pultec EQs were famous for.

Look at these curves, the blue and red have undershoot (the dip down where the curve boosts upwards), the green is a typical, garden variety EQ curve. The undershoot serves as a sort of band emphasis mechanism:

Push should be the gain of the peak filters. So I assume it does produce overshoot, which would work like resonance.

Yes, I think adding push would then work similarly to increasing the quality of a normal low-shelf filter, right? :-)

Well, I just tried it out again. I think Push is best thought of as simpy boost or gain.

Here's a frequency response plot of Pushtec using Christian Budde's plugin analyser. Looking at the middle bands on the plot, the top has push set to high for two bands, but no pull. The bottom plot shows pull set to high, which results in the big dip:

The nice sounds that Pushtec produces is a result of the interaction of the two opposing curves.
