Jo,

Just having my first play and couldn't see a step-recording mode - is there one?

Thanks.

No, not yet.

don't know if you already have a fixed idea of how step recording should be implemented, but imho the approach (the feel) should be about the same as to writing text, with notes instead of letters, with backspace, overwrite (instead of insert), and the arrow forward and back.

imho speed and simplicity is crucial in step recording, having to "search" for your notes with your arrow keys (esp. up and down) sucks. this is the problem with virtually all hosts.

imho it's also important that you don't have to interface with your mouse while step recording.

contemporary hosts offer bearable step recording at best.i grew up with the trackers, so i know how good step recording should feel. i have tried virtually every host out there, and found that the best ones are logic, cubase, energyxt, and sonar. not to mention the trackers, because i think i've outgrown them.

i could elaborate on my ideas if you like. i've had a more or less solid picture of how to make the perfect step recording (to me) for years.. but please, only if you're really interested..

oh and to add, i think that by adding enough (more than any host so far) different, even subtly different keyboard commands for the users to map, for step recording only, almost everybody could match luna to their own preferred way of step recording.
