Thanks to the unexpected generosity of a certain true gentleman here, I bought Z2. It is a simply brilliant piece of code opening up amazing sonic possibilities, even for a tyro like me. I will always be grateful for this. :)

Now for the possible bugs and feature requests... :hihi: :hihi:

1. I know it is a MIDI learn thing, but in some of my presets, some values annoyingly change to zero when playback is stopped and it's driving me nutzoids.:) Sometimes double-right-clicking does not work; I have to do it twice. Why does this happen?

2. Sometimes, the fine tuning (shift+drag) is TOO fine, and it hinders automation of parameters... any workarounds to this?

3. Does the order of the modules displayed in the left pane on the 'Synthesis' tab matter? Them modules sometimes have a mind of their own... for example, I click somewhere accidentally and the VCF goes above OSC1, etc. Then I click madly and more mayhem happens. :hihi: How do I reorder them?

4. Whenever Z2 loads, the default preset format is 'native'. I change it to 'h2p extended', but the next time Z2 loads, it reverts to 'native'. Is this by design? I want to save presets in the 'h2p extended' format by default. :)

5. Could someone please update the 'XY controls' manual page with pictures? :)

Cheers! :D

Ok...

1. If the right-click comes too fast, it's interpreted just a double click. Leave a second between the two clicks.

The reset on song playback is the main reason why I hate MidiLearn. Some hosts just reset the MidiCCs (all or only some) and the the preset gets corrupted!

2. Well... oh... it's hard to find the balance for some parameters, really...

3. The order does not matter. Modules will flip position when you click between them. This way you can put them in any order that you like, i.e. when editing patches with too many modules to display without scrolling.

4. Preferences that persist over plugin loads (like preferences in a normal program/exe) are on the agenda.

5. Yes  - it'll happen

I'm more impressed with Z2 every day.... now

About #2, Urs, maybe you could use drag for tuning, shift+drag for finer tuning and Ctrl+Shift+drag (or alt+drag) for ultra-fine tuning (the level of tuning that shift+drag does now)? I hope users don't object. :)

:?:  I was talking about integrating the feature in the next update.

Anyway, one more minor thing:

I was searching for a global/retrigger switch for the MSEGs but couldn't find it; I didn't want the envelope to retrigger on every note. Found nothing about this in the manual. I think I remember asking you this about Zebralette and you saying that you would add it for Z2.

I tried all the three trigger modes, they don't do what I am looking for. For example, I have set up Z2 so that the VCF1 cutoff and the phase sync of OSC1 are 'modded' by MSEG1. It is a lead sound (actually an arped lead sequence), so the fact that Z2 retriggers the MSEG at every note instance is proving unsuitable for my digestion. Now where's that TurboLax? :hihi:

Think this is good enough for implementation in the next update? :)

Hiya,

Hmmm, the "single trigger" should just let an MSEG run through when the Arp is playing. Must check this.

With single trig, only the first note triggers the MSEG and every following note (that overlaps!) will not, until all notes are released for a moment.

Will also check the "fine" stuff out... maybe make it a user preference when the enxt update puts these into effect. (Unless the next update is a sheer maintenace thing, that is - a 2.x will have improvements, a 2.0.x will have bugfixes only)

Cheers,

;) Urs

Well, the arp is written is in the sequencer (FL); the Z2 Arp is not used. Sorry, I should've mentioned that.

Cool @ the finetuning thing. Would love to see it soon! :)
