If you can use this crap, it's your's. Keep your dollar. T2 is worthless to me. PM me your real name and real email address (ie not yahoo or hotmail) and I'll change the info on my account. You'll get 2ea T1 T2 and T1-NFR. You should be able to upgrade it to T3. I'm more than happy to be done with it.SuperFly76 wrote:

Beno - Has there been any work done to the freeze function?
I only wish it would create and track an individual frozen temporary wave for each track (folder?) that's frozen instead of using one for all. The additional hard drive space requirement is really nearly irrelevant now, even on laptops.
It's only a small change, but it would greatly increase the power of that function, letting even crappy old machines work on studio level projects.
(And of course the "Freeze track up until this filter" function someone mentioned would be incredible!)

Dude, if Tracktion had anything that you liked about it, why not just suggest those features? You don't see me in the eXt threads telling everyone to stop buying it because it doesn't work for me. Each time I've tried eXt, it has suddenly shut down on me while I was in the middle of working with it. Using eXT is on my list of things to do right next to being shipwrecked. Do you give a shit? Of course not! You shouldn't!tomg wrote:I've got a feeling that me and T2 are going to part ways for good after I find out they didn't do anything about the crap midi and there's still no way to insert a "filter" between the input and track.
It looks like they've given up on making a great sequencer and entered the Acid wannabe camp. I've had this damn thing for 3 years and I've never done one song with it. I might even sell it for $1 'cause that's about all I think it's worth. I've had eXT for less than 6 months and I've got 14 or 15 complete tunes.
Everytime I sit down with eXT I leave with something I want to keep. I can't say that about anything else. Cubase used to crash and take my music with it. Then I'd just shut down the computer and leave dejected and empty handed. Tracksion has been even worse because I can't get anything done at all with it. It might be great for recording bands and now the Acid kiddies but that ain't me.
Every now and then I use it to assemble and normalize wave files into a soundtrack but I've got Audition and really wouldn't care if T2 went away altogether. I don't even have it installed anymore. My advice is spend your money somewhere else. Mackie doesn't care or midi would have been fixed years ago. I'm a little bitter about this and I'm not all that happy with Steinberg either but Cubase is out of my life. I still have T2 for the time being.
But the point isn't that eXT sucks. It's that it's great for people who use it and make music with it, why should I try convincing the developer to focus on my problems if I think it's not really for me anyway?
Aren't you a developer yourself? You're not doing great p.r. work by trash talking like a teenager. Get up from your computer and socialize, I think your mistaking people's opinions for a Synthedit plug that won't compile...

I don't even know where to start with that comment. That is just so far from the truth. Just look at the feature request list for T3 and compare it with the list Beno provided. I have found Mackie and Raw Materials to be one of the most helpful and concerned companies.tomg wrote:...
I hope you feel good about your investment 'cause once they get your cash they won't give a f**k about you either. No need to cry for me. eXT is almost everthing I want and it makes T2 look that much worse. You might have a little sympathy for the folks that are buying into this facade though. It looks great but the foundation is bad so they slap a coat of paint on it, put a bird bath in the front yard and raise the price. The world has lot's of suckers and that's a good thing for companys like Mackie.
I've been using T for the last 2 years and It has suited my needs just fine.
On the other hand... You may have some good logic here...
I just bought a Ford Mustang and it doesn't have four weel drive. What the heck am I going to do. I wrote ford and told them that this is a feature I must have. Afterall it is an automobile isn't it? I should be able to drive wherever the heck I want. It's my right!! Ford totally screwed me!!! I live atop a volcanic mountain and I can't even drive the worthless thing up my 100 foot 75 degree angle driveway!!! It's totally worthless. If you ever think of buying a mustang then look elseware. I think I will even sell the worthless piece of junk for $1. Ford doesn't give a crap about their users because they haven't released a 4x4 Mustang!!! The world has a lot of suckers!!
Hey guys I think that we have a Lord of the Rings character lurking in these here caves!!!

I wouldn't be too happy that he's "agreeing" with you. You are still way out of line here.tomg wrote:Exactly my point. You have every right in the world to hope for certain features. You have every right in the world to be upset when they are not there.
However, when you spew crap like you are, in the manor you are, you are the only one that has a problem. Cry me a river. You throw a fit like a ten year old because Mackie doesn't care about you. Then you tell all the other users that they won't care about them either. Hmmm, seems to me that this update is perfect for me and many others. They have had my money for a long time, and will continue to get it.
1. You haven't even seen the full feature set yet, but you insist on trolling around with your theories that Mackie doesn't listen.
2. The features that are included were MORE asked for then the ones you mentioned. Show me proof otherwise.
3. Mackie doesn't owe you a thing. You bought something that had a demo, and it apparently worked for you, because you DID buy it. It's your own fault if it didn't do what you wanted.
4. If you bought Tracktion hoping that a version two years down the road would add features you want, you are the one at fault, nobody else. Act pissed all you want. You're the one who will have to swim in it.
5. You say that mackie hasn't give you anything with these new features. Well, then don't pay for it. Simple as that.
If you are THAT unhappy about things, go away. Nobody here cares about what you think if you are going to have the pissy attitude that you have. You are wrong here, and you can't show me one valid reason or bit of proof that anything you say is true. Now, stop whining and go away. Or, grow up and wait like everyone else for the full feature list. Email Mackie politely and ask questions if you want. But stop going on with your hissy fit about how Mackie doesn't listen and is only out to screw it's customers.

Are you for real? You should have tried the demo before buying it. Looking at screenshots of a software won't let you know if it's for you or not.tomg wrote:I hope you feel good about your investment 'cause once they get your cash they won't give a f**k about you either. Once again, you paid for T2 and that's what you got, no more no less. You didn't pay for T3, and if T3 isn't for you then don't pay for it. It's as simple as that.
The featurelist of T3 clearly shows that Mackie is listening to their costumers, because much of it is frequently requested features. But frankly, there's not much on that list that is on my wishlist. Does that mean that I regret buying T2? Sure doesn't. Does that mean that I won't buy T3? Nope, Tracktion is still the best option for me, all things considered. If there were better options I would give up on Tracktion. It's as simple as that.
I am still hoping for things like a drum editor. But I won't be angry if Mackie doesn't include one since they never promised me one. (just at bit frustrated)

Oh, and as for Mackie entering the "Acid wannabe" camp, think again. The users requested certain features, they got it. However, the loops are only a FRACTION of what was added. T2 is already a serious sequencer, and has one of the larger userbases of budget priced software. And it has features that rival many of the much larger softwares.
But I guess they are just wannabe Acid users. Maybe they should just give up on the whole thing now since they obviously aren't going to make YOU happy. Oh well, it was nice knowing you Tracktion.
