any chance of making it possible to change the size of the zebra 2 screen?
thanks!

Post

Yes. I have an internal version that can be scaled smoothly from 25% to 200%. It just doesn't look that great anymore.

I'm rather thinking that support for gui-skins along with some nice themes and smaller/bigger layouts will be the way to go.

Cheers,

;) Urs

I would really like to have black&white skin for Zebra2 if it's possible. Thanks for such a deep sound design tool Urs!

Black and White? I wonder where you got such an idea from? :)

Post

Sure, why not?

I just gotta get my head around the whole skinnability thing. Concepts are already there, but it certainly needs some time to implement...

I have a black&white obsession apart from zebra context. :)

How about something like this? (just a quicky, just for you...)

I'll need to install the PC version to see how the skinning works on that, I suspect it's pretty similar so shouldn't cause too many problems...

how do you change the colors?

It's even easier as you don't have to open the package. Everything sits at C:\Program Files\u-he\Zebra2\data\ just like in Package Contents/.../Resources/, but there's also a font directory.

Post

Yeah, I figured as much... :)

I'm not doing anything official as such at the moment, but if I do something that I'd like to be made available I'd probably give it to Urs to stick up on his website if he wanted so he can control or monitor the quality, rather than just distribute it myself.

I guess that the package or PC installation doesn't contain any reg info and is just the same as the demo version? Ie if I did give someone a skin in a prepackaged component, I'm not giving away a licensed version or anything? Just checking...

Pdxindy - just edit the bitmaps with an image editor. Some of the things like controls and text colors are contained in a Zebra2.txt file in the scripts directory.

Well, you're actually violating the license agreement. But as long as it looks good... hehehe... great!

If you wanted to distribute anything, then please just distribute the Images and the Scripts folders...

Ok cool. Like I say, I'm not planning on anything at this stage, but I'll run anything past you anyway...

Cheers!

Would skinning include having different colors for just some of the knobs?
The reason I ask is, that for me a little flaw of your GUIs has always been that there is no real destinction between the knobs for actual parameters and knobs for the modulation amount.
So for an example I'd like the knobs for the parameters to be black as they are, while the knobs for modulation amount would be in dark grey.

while I'm discovering organic heavens with it...

Beej, I'd LOVE that black and white colorscheme for my Zebra PC install.
