OK,
I can't look anymore. I have to get some things done. Needless to say, would make a nice Christmas present.

Your first bunch of questions don't make sense as far as I can tell. Given what we saw in teh video, and Beno's suggestion that T uses genre defined loops, them that panel is specifically for working with loops.grymmjack wrote:...
Given that it has a drop down selector, I imagine that panel has at least two modes, and they may not look anything alike.
The last buttons you're looking at look like standard scrollbar buttons to me. Perhaps they are buttons for resizing tracks horizontally and vertically.

I freeze-framed the video when he zoomed in on the gui, I could see that 'markers' is one of the items you can switch to in the area where you see the loops...valley wrote:...

Jules started that one, way back in the day.
I think he liked the way it chimed with mountaineers. It kind of presents an image of intrepid idiots swashbuckling their way through thickets of bugs, and exploring never before used features.
Ahh, the good old days.
Really, the allusion works quite well, 'cos now it's all been made easy for you, just like a chair-lift up the side of a once feared peak.

The browser panel seems like a cool idea, 'cos it's pretty extensible without requiring extra screen space when not needed.jplanet wrote:I freeze-framed the video when he zoomed in on the gui, I could see that 'markers' is one of the items you can switch to in the area where you see the loops...valley wrote:...

Heh. Well, as valley mentions, the dream was alive long before Tracktion could be considered anything corporate whatsoever. It's been here in the RMS forum since The Very Earliest Of Days.Chuck E. No word on an improved colour scheme editor then?

I agree with RainyDays. It really looks messy and cramped. First thing I'll have to do - before buying T3 - is to invest into a 24inch sreen with a wide aspect ratio. Not that I would mind such a screen. I mind the expenses only.rainydays wrote:If that's the final GUI then I'll be a bit dissapointedBeno wrote:I added a screenshot to the original post. You can see the editable collection clips on the folder track.
BenIt looks really messy with different fontsizes, non antialiased curves, practically no space in the layout etc. Hopefully it will look a bit better with higher resolution and nicer looking color scheme, but still.
Yeah I know you had to cram in a lot of stuff in one single screen, and it's hard to do. But it looks very unpolished.
BTW, it's just a few minutes since I came across Beno's post and all your responses, but one thing I missed so far is a comment about dual core support in T3. Or should my guide dog have a look trough these posts?
Cheers

Most of the discussion in this thread is about dual core.Lone Tracker wrote: BTW, it's just a few minutes since I came across Beno's post and all your responses, but one thing I missed so far is a comment about dual core support in T3. Or should my guide dog have a look trough these posts?

I wondered about the gui a bit too but from the other angle - what's it going to look like on my laptops 1024*768 screen... I doubt I'll be a big loop user so space savings there, and T2s fine at the moment so maybe the re-sizing functions will actually improve matters...Lone Tracker wrote:First thing I'll have to do - before buying T3 - is to invest into a 24inch sreen with a wide aspect ratio.
One thing that's puzzled me from day one is what advantage all the buttons bottom left have over a conventional menu bar. I think Jules said he didn't want just another windows app but just plonking the individual 'menus' on seperate buttons down there... don't see it myself. I think sub-grouping them (say all the yellow buttons) would be a neat bit of gui streamlining. Or maybe just a windows 'Start'-a-like button (Tracktion logo!) with all the functions nestled within it. And wouldn't the options be better on the settings tab? Why differentiate between the two?
Anyhow, this has nothing to do with T3 really, still pretty excited by what's on show so far Beno.
