Ouch. Not bad enough to make me take back my previous post, but I had been willing to bet a ton of money that aftertouch would have been there...Looks like my lead synths will continue to be recorded the old fashioned way: audio output from the synth to line in on the audio card...At least my performaces will be honest ones, and not tweaked in the piano roll...

Post

Sorry Daniel, at this point, Aftertouch has not been added yet
Thats sad to hear :( I guess i'll be waiting a little longer to upgrade then.

Just to clarify, mono-aftertouch(or channel pressure) is just another MIDI controller like pitch-bend or the mod-wheel. It really surprises me its been overlooked for so long. I can't imagine it would be a big task to add it. Currently Tracktion quite happily passes it on to the filters/synths but just doesn't record it.

Saying that, i'm sure everyone is busy, and the rest of the updates really do look pretty cool.

Honesty is overated ;)

LOL, yes, I know -- especially if you've ever heard "honest" takes of my synth solos. That was just my way of biting my tongue at the disappointment...

Why be dissapointed? Beno said that he would try to get it in ASAP. Maybe you can hold on to the hope that it will be sooner rather then later?

Oh, I'm just disappointed that it's uncertain - Beno didn't sound terribly optimistic, and it may already be a higher priority to squeeze in multi-core support...but, yes, naturally I will keep my fingers crossed and make the upgrade regardless.

Even if there was a way to re-map aftertouch to mod-wheel I'd be happy, maybe this can be done in Synthedit? I basically just press harder rather than use a mod-wheel for vibrato -- it frees up my left hand for accompaniment when soloing and doing those Jan Hammer-style leads...it also feels more expressive to play that way...

Beno wrote:OK, I posted a new screen shot in my original thread showing the left panel hidden along with the inputs hidden. I also hid the marker and global track. Looks pretty similar to T2 right?

It also shows the loop properties for the selected loop clip.

Ben

would you rather then work on bug fixes and features or an improved color editor?
