Hi, Im currently trying to install kontak2 on my receptor, dragging all the library files over to my receptor. (using my intel iMac)
A lot of the files transfer ok, but suddenly i get a message like this: (translated from norwegian)
"you cannot copy object "violin ens 14 (stac1+2 alt).nkl beacuse the name is to long or has signs/letters that the disc cant show"
I get about the same message when I tranfer librarydisc2 (about another file offcourse)
Then I push "ok" on the messagebox and the transfer of files stop.
Am i doing something wrong?
Hope someone can help me out:-)

It is an issue with the filenames and the mac. When I started the same process from the pc, it worked fine. I believe it is with incompatible file systems. I think I found that answer here or in the manual.

I had the same problems. My Mac gave me the same error message, with pc it worked. Maybe you should try to connect to receptor via smb (like windows does) and not via AppleTalk, as Muse suggests.

Definitely try that. SMB is the key.

Is it anot an issue with the PC only supporting short file names, and since the Receptor is Windows-based that might explain the problem. Have you tried LAN, or even disk image?ajswanson wrote:It is an issue with the filenames and the mac. When I started the same process from the pc, it worked fine.
