It sounds pretty good so far, I'm not exactly in the market for such a synth, but HinkJr is...so I've pointed him to this...if I can help you at all give me a shout

If you can provide either 6 open strings 4 seconds direct input attacks with bridge pickup of a guitar or 2 attacks (one from bridge single coil and one from neck single coil ) of a same guitar, I'm intersted.
Thanks !
Thanks !

Ok, it's not good for my pickup position comparison, but you can still send me a 6x4 seconds attacks audio file, as the more diffrerent guitar sounds I can look at, the better.

Sure glad to help. I think I am going to do the samples tomorrow because I will be receiving a new guitar DI box then.Mokafix wrote:yep, exactly. you can let each string ring up to 4 seconds.
And if you find variax sound good enough, it's not a problem at all if you use it, as it's not really the same kind of emu as mine.
I you use the variax, I want only el guitar, and only bridge pickup if possible.
thank you so much !

You're gonna throw our guitarists out of Business
OK grab it here: Bridge and neck, all strings on my old Levinson Blade R1. Strings are not brand new and shiny but I don't like the oh-so-trebly tone of new strings. Pick-ups are all single coils.
Keep up

No chance I'm affraid...zeoy wrote:You're gonna throw our guitarists out of Business![]()
But I promise you I'll try to!
thanks for the samples !
Now I got 2 sets :
- Levinson blade R1 single coils
- G&L asat single coils
so basically a strat and a tele.
so those who want to send me others, try to use another kind of guitar, and some humbuckers too.
thank you all!
I'll have lot of work with it, as I can see the fresher the string set is, the more complicated the waves are...

oh, Zeoy, I see you picked the guitar just in front of the pickup each time, am I wrong?
or at least, when you used bridge pickup, your hand was also closer to the bridge...

hmmmm, in fact, if it's true, (wich it is I think), could you send me the bridge pickup, but picked at the same place as when you did the Neck pickup file?
thanks.
thanks.

Didn't pay much attention. I just picked the way I usually do. Between bridge and middle pick-up that is. Can't make more takes at the moment (gotta go to work now) but I'd gladly make new ones most probably tomorrow if you want different picking positions or styles.

ok, so you think you picked the same for each take?
if so, i won't need more files; it was just to ckeck.
but if you're not sure, another take (only lower string attack) of both pickups picked at the same position would help.
thanks a lot.

You mean you want me to hit the strings softer? If this is what you need no problem. Sorry but my style is to hit'em hard. I'll try to be more gentle next time
However note that one of the things that make a guitar's tone interresting is the way the strings react to soft ot hard hits. Hard hits produce also a sharper initial pitch esp. in Strat style guitars.

i meant : just give me a sound with neck pickup, one with bridge, but both with same pick position, because pick position and pickup position influence over sound can be hard to determinate, and i want to be sure of what i'm doing. That's why my needs are so precise. We are dealing with utterly accurate emulation here; not just sound approximation...
so just two attacks : neck and bridge pickups, same pick position exactly.
I'm beginning to figure out some things; I thought pickup position had more influence than pickup type (single coil/humbucker).
As expected, my emulation was wrong : by moving pickup from bridge to neck, it was morphing the pickup from bridge humbucker to neck single coil, wich is fun but not what I want
now it'll be normal. pick pos and pick type will be very different parameters, thanks to the audio files i recieved.
so Thanks a lot !
