How do I do this?
I am trying to get a particular set of controls that I want to be able to automate/control by MIDI controllers in Live. How do i set this up?
The ones I want are not available currently in the drop down... I am talking of Filterscape Q6/Filterscape here

The problem with Live is, it can only see the first 128 parameters of a plugin, whereas each of the Filterscapes has more than 600 (due to the eq snapshots etc.). So it was a matter of preference to make 128 useful ones visible for Live (in fact, it was Live that led us to choose for only 128 automatable params in FilterscapeVA)
However, about any parameter can be MidiLearned (ctrl-click/right-click knob, then move Midi controller), so that it should be possible to automate them by Midi Control Change messages rather than Live's normal way.
Cheers,
Urs

Lots of Live users want that limitation removed. Many synths and effects have more than 128 parameters. I usually use the midi learn in synths and effects anyway, which you can also use in Session view. Everything I use frequently, happen to have its own midi learn so this has not been an issue for me. No real downside to doing it this way, so give it a try!

The problem with Midi learn is that we cant assign ranges like we can if used with Live's automation. That is certainly more flexible and suited for Live use, in my case DJ'ing.
What about being able to choose the parameters urself, like how the Ohmforce plugs have?

Hmmm, might be an option. But this has to be carefully thought out, as I can imagine lots of side effects...tansu wrote:What about being able to choose the parameters urself, like how the Ohmforce plugs have?
