Not yet. But I guess these will pop up sooner or later, and I'm gonna offer patch designers a fair retail system for their banks, much like reFX do.ATS wrote:are there premium presets available for sale for zebra 2?
In fact the preview download came with previews of 3 signature banks that are currently being worked on!

I dunno. Zebra 2 already has almost perfect GUI, and I feel that several new GUI's would just confuse things.YBaCuO wrote:Be careful about Signature PRESETS. In my mind, presets are hard to sell (as they will necessarily only sell to a fraction of the original user base).
Instead, think about Signature SYNTHS something like Triple Cheese but tailored to each individual designer.

+1 for distortion, BTW. Shapers are useful, but something more "crunchy" would be nice. And +928 for XMF
As for the sampler, I was also asking for this when I bought Zebra 2 a few months ago. Since I understood that the U-he sampler couldn't happen in quite a while I tested the options.
I ended up buying Shortcircuit, and I must say I am happy with that too. Especially now that SC2 is shaping up really well. More interesting and straightforward than Kontakt/Battery, in my opinion - and cheaper too. Only thing missing is disk streaming, but I don't need that anyway.

A sampler! Nice. Then I have some requests that I miss in all the samplers i've tried:
1) Automatable Loop start and end points
2) Tracker (Fasttracker, Impulse tracker, Renoise) like loop envelopes. (They rock for creating nice effects, shaping volume etc and pads etc). I can explain this in more detail if you don't know what the hell i'm talking about.
I would pay alot for these features! :)
cheers!

Nice. But that's windows only :( i'm using os xspritex wrote:Offtopic, but: Shortcircuit has loop start and lenght as modulation destinations, by knobs, LFO's or whatever. Or did you mean something else?

I agree. I am not interested in being able to re-arrange the gui or have different gui versions and so on. I consider it the best synth gui, period. Time is better spent elsewherespritex wrote:

The big problem with Shortcircuit is it is windows only. I own Kontakt, but there is no OS X sampler that is fast, great GUI, and geared towards sampling and sound design rather than playing huge sample libraries.spritex wrote:Offtopic, but: Shortcircuit has loop start and lenght as modulation destinations, by knobs, LFO's or whatever. Kontakt does not integrate into hosts well, it does not support drag n drop. So for example, if I record a clip in Live, I cannot just drag that into Kontakt and Kontakt is not actually a sampler as it does not itself sample. The database thing is annoying. Kontakt is very capable, but... I don't want to have to say but. When I talk about Zebra, there is no but and that is the sort of software I want to use.
So an Urs created sampler that was focused on recording and manipulating sound, rather than big multi-sample playback would certainly be of interest to me.

They'll be available for download soon! Probably as soon as I find some days that I can spend on something else (work...) than emails...ttoz wrote:and the final doesn't???

There is basically nothing you could say to make me agree more.pdxindy wrote:So an Urs created sampler that was focused on recording and manipulating sound, rather than big multi-sample playback would certainly be of interest to me.

Urs, sorry for getting back to the latest version ("0.92" or "0.95") but ... I re-downloaded and re-installed Zebra2 VST Win (US server) and the version showed is still 0.92.Urs wrote:0.95 it is. As stated, I forgot to update the internal version number to, well, 2.0
Are the Mac and Win versions different?
I want to be sure I'm running the latest and greatest version... thanks

If anything is different (apart from platform specific code), then it's just the internal version text, which is stored here in a platform dependent configuration file. Everything else is *always* compiled from the same sources, thus all downloads are the latest & greatest
- I'd love to check the text on my PC, but I'm currently working in kinda minimum-setup due to moving office... so, can any Win user verify if it's 0.92 or 0.95?
Cheers,
Urs
