Thanks for the fxb, the plug is easy enough to use but there's some nice stuff in the presets ;)
I might be repeating stuff as I'm already reported the issue in the past, but just in case it helps:
- I've been able to reproduce the issue in all hosts I've tested it in: energyXT, Phrazor, Minihost and VSTHost (all of them latest versions available)
- I've been able to test it and reproduce it in 2 different machines: a Pentium3 desktop and a PentiumM laptop. I have WinXP on both machines (SP2 on the desktop and plain vanilla on the laptop)

So... machine-independent + host-independent = OS-related ? It might as well be...
The mind boggles.

hmmm.. I've (naughtily) installed eXT on my PC at work - an IBM P4 box running XPSP1.. I loaded EQ22, and it was fine...

Apparently SP2 is supposed to hotfixed onto this machine soon (so not at all late then...)

So I came across some audio clips from a new booster/enhancer thing coming out some time in the soonish, decided to put EQ22 up against it. Didn't go so thoroughly out of my way to make it scientific or anything, just comparing by ear on cheap earphones. I compared frequency response graphs afterward, I did a pretty good job of matching it with EQ22. And listening to each, I think liked the EQ22 version better. This thing is the bee's knees, I tell you what.

With the the birth of Rough Draft, will that mean we'll see new versions of SpringLine Reverb and Diodorant some time? Or see them folded into something else?

Post

Springline is due for a refresh, and Diodorant hasn't been forgotten.

There will be a brand-spanking new product soon, as well. I'll be posting info when beta starts [when I've got it that far - it's nearly there! :)]

If you ever need any help with testing any of it, feel free to call upon me.

Post

hi duncan,

could you put up a version of EQ22 with the presets
already included within the plugin?!

also, up for beta testing and helping out on that
other stuff.

Post

..The presets are included in the plugin.. but, on some systems they are being overridden for some reason I cannot fathom - I haven't had this before

I've supplied a link to the factory presets until I can work out what's happened.

There will be a v1.1, but not until after my current project has finished; and it will take on board a few suggestions that have been made :)

I'm really sorry that a few are having this problem :(

I just tried it in eXT to see if I could get the preset issue, but it works fine for me.

This is the first time I've noticed that you can solo/mute bands. Very nice. Although when you do get around to updates, having an unsolo option in the context menu would be good.

Post

..I take it you haven't read the manual then.. ;)

Clicking the nameplate will solo/unsolo; plus CTRL and/or SHIFT +clicking name plates perform other muting functions :)

go see....

Hi DSP,
just a note to thank you for this plug:
I find that it provides a nice tone and I have been using it on things lately.
Generally I Eq instead of compress, never compressing things to satisfaction, and this has felt like it compensates for me, providing a certain tonal richness I like. :)

Gave this a very quick go. On stereo files, it sounds like the left and right channels are not receiving the same processing information.

Post

..err..

Would you be able to post and example? Say 10 sec of dry, then 10 sec of the same section thru a preset..

The processing works like a linked compressor, in that the max absolute value of the pair is enveloped. However, how they respond to the processing depends on that actual data each side, which can go up as high as +13dBFS before a softlimiter catches it ;)

If there are wild variations in the input, there may be wilder variations on the output. However, I'd like a look to see if it can be tamed if there is a problem!

Oh, and which host?
