Has anyone actually been able to install this using the unsupported method. It fails every time on my Receptor. Any hints would be extremely welcome.

Have you read what the report file says after the failed install ? It could be that some files you need are required. If not, it could be a problem with WINE. The first case is an easy fix (install the required files), the second isn't.

The log does not refer to any missing or could not find files. Since it is a "known" working unsupported plugin, I was hoping someone with some success might provide a glimmer of hope. Or possibly a known trick.

Even the knowledge that others have tried and either succeeded or failed might help.

The database entry for Syncoder 32 says it works. I have installed several of the other EVM synths and they all worked fine, like most Synthedit synths do. Have you upgraded your OS to 1.5 or are you running an older version. Several of us had a problem where ALL unsupported installs stopped working on 1.4...something about the "signing certificates" having expired. Once we upgraded to OS 1.5 they started working again.

Ah, now there's a hint. Yes, I am running 1.4. I'll bump up to 1.5 and report. Thanks.

Install was successful. :) I was in the dark about the issue with 1.4. Thanks a million. Hopefully this may help others that may be having issues with installers. Might be good to place a mention in the "if it doesn't work" thread.
