3 Modelonia Qs

Hi all! Three Modelonia Qs, if I may:

(1) When turning a knob in Modelonia's default GUI, it blinks. When you stop, sometimes the light is off, sometimes it is on. I haven't been able to figure out what the point of this feature is, if the light actually means anything. So, what is the point of this feature?

(2) How does the ADSR work? Is it connected to the master amplitude as well as being a modulator source? Even if I have all destinations set to 0 for the ENV modulator, ADSR still has affect on the sound.

(3) What exactly does Diapason do to the sound?

Just have to add; Modelonia is amazingly fun to program. Quite difficult, especially when doing cross modulation. I mean, the results can be quite unpredictable, but that's the beauty of it! I just can't believe some of the sounds I come up with fiddling around with this thing. I love it! It really is refreshingly unique. Generally, I find the NUSofting line of PM synths very fascinating.

What exactly does Diapason do to the sound?

Diapasons come in two varieties: open, where the end of the pipe is clear, producing a bright sound; and stopped where the end of the pipe is blocked, producing a more muffled, sweeter sound. The name diapason is also used on some electronic organs for voices which imitate the pipe organ stop.

OK I'm going to look stupid here but I was under the ipression that the most common useage of the word "diapason" nowadays is to denote "octave" in the sense of a doubling of the root pitch frequency except that now that not every temperament uses eight notes per scale "octave" can be a bit misleading so we say "diapason" to mean "octave" just without the implication of "eight notes"...

Blinking light? No idea. Probably to tell you there's midi activity.

Ahaa! Thanks for the info! Now it makes more sense.

Hmm, too bad there isn't a separate master ADSR and modulation source ADSR. That would've been really useful.
