I might as well get right to it...

1: Is there Audio Unit support in the OS X version? I'm not on Mac yet, but there's an iMac in my future. If not, is this something that is planned?

2: It would be really nice to have a time-based display somewhere, showing hours:minutes:seconds. I can do the conversion but it would be nice to have that information right there and always visible.

3: This is incredibly unimportant, but throwing in a simple video playback window option would be very nice, even if it just supports one format like .mov or something. Or... does anyone know of a plugin that simply handles video playback? That would also work. I understand that this feature might be beyond the scope of LUNA.

4: Volume and Pan automation for audio tracks would really rock .. this has already been requested but I thought I'd chime in too. I'd be happy with just volume+pan automation within the audio clip views, rather than on the overall Composer, similar to how MIDI automation works.

5: Not really important, but a toggle icon in the Mixing Desk area to show which tracks are monitoring audio input. I think that it would feel a bit cleaner this way rather than through the context menu.

That's all of them, and likely all that I'll have. I've been looking for something like LUNA for awhile, a multitrack app that is both simple and elegant. My excitement about for it is forcing me to make these requests ;)

No AU support yet. It's not yet planned on short term, but it is on the whishlist.

In the last issue of Computer Music, i read about a video VST plugin ;)

It is planned. But still undefined timing.

Nice suggestion.

At the other hand:

-> having such switch doesn't define which input you want to monitor. So you'll need a context menu anyway.

-> I always try to keep the front GUI as clean as possible. It's so tempting to add a button for this or that function. But then we end up with a too complex GUI.

The ideal, i think, would be to have a simple GUI when you run the app for the first time, then you can customize the full GUI up to complex level. Of course this would require a serious R&D effort. For now the emphasis is on keeping things easy and straightforward, without excluding functional complexity, which can be accessed via the context menus.

Anyway, i'll keep my eyes and my head open for any GUI improvements!

Skirting around #2, are we? :hihi:

Is there a reason to skirt it? I always try to read a lot of posts before I post anything myself, but I could have easily missed something.

Thanks for the reply, Jo. Most of my requests were pretty superfluous ;) I'll try to track down that issue of Computer Music to find out what VST video player you're talking about. I'm glad that AU support and audio vol/pan automation are on this wishlist, and some basic hh:mm:ss thing would be more than enough for me. I will be registering LUNA shortly, regardless :)

noizbot, I was aiming that remark at Jo, since he answered every question but #2. ;)

Hehe, okay. I was concerned that that particular feature request was already being discussed elsewhere and I had just missed it. :)

Jo, can we look forward to a time-based display in PR5?

Regards video vst plugins. There's two freebies out there movieplayer05_big and movieplayer05_small that require the also free pluggo runtime to be installed alongside. Works fine but I more downloaded them to just check out, as opposed to creating a bona fide project. So don't know the depths of their functionality. I couldn't get a full screen video going, but had no trouble getting a file up playing while the music played in the back ground, but all within a black box screen player. They're worth a spin.

Also there's videovstmmx I've not run it yet for the same reason as above, but it's there to download. Just google for the sites, I can't remember them.

No, not yet in PR5, sorry.

But it's a nice feature, i agree, so i'm confident it will come in a future version.

Just another bit on the Vst plugins for video; the site for movieplayer05 large and small is: http://www.groc.org/movieplayer/

It works fine with Luna, comes up as an effect and just needs a player directed towards it.

The other vst; videovstmmx loads up and starts but then just locks up for me. The readme warns that it should be used only in workstations that allow the option of automatically turning off effects when the engine stops. Probably why it locks up.

I don't mean to get off track from Luna but someone asked about this sort of plugin.

I quickly checked out VideoVST (from http://www.kvraudio.com/developer_challenge.php ) and the ReadMe says that it's best that the host keeps on processing plugs even when stopped (thus that's the opposite of what you probably accidently wrote).

LUNA does continue processing plugings when stopped.

And even if that would not be the case, i don't see that be a reason for the crash.

But it indeed does crash on my system here too.

Reading on on the website of the creator ( http://mattbentley.muzic.net.nz/videovst/ ), i've the impression that it occassionally also crashes in other apps.

I've also tried the barebones version, but same thing.

I've tried emailing Matt, but the email address on that page seems invalid...
