Doubler effects

well, I tried this out (I figured out that you have to send it to a Group channel), and I can't say I found it terribly useful for bass. It just created a bit of a tail on it, put some fuzzy artefacts on; I wouldn't say this is a bass-enhancer per se. I'd be way more inclined to use Bass Chorus.

If I could be arsed, I'd sing the bastard song again. Easy way. Honest puter chaps; by the time you've finished fretting and twatting about with yer plug ins you could have done it. Three times or so.
The olde ways my son.

Sorry, I don't buy that - although real doubling is, of course, great advice. I like using a doubler when I want that "doubler sound"; It's simply a different sound than re-tracking (which I do habitually anyway), and it gives you a little extra dexterity when mixing vocals.
I mean, should I always re-track my guitar, and play a little behind the beat, when I want to make a chorus effect? That's not easier, just more organic. I just think it's its own thing now. And if it's worked for Peter Gabriel in The Olde Days, it's good enough for me.

what about dischord from audio damage?

I was quite excited the first time after I bought it, but since then, I hardly ever use it - it sounds too artificial on almost every source material IMO. If you want to double a track I suggest simply record 2 tracks, Pan one hard left and the other hard right - even if it means you need to sing twice or play your instrument twice, it simply sounds better. Yeah, I think the Antares Avox bundle is a joke, myself; does not deliever the goods. But I remember a colleague really liked it, probably a matter of taste.

I've never seen the mda detune brought up in these threads.
It's my favorite doubler for voice.
But it's just another tool in an arsenal of delay tools I regularly use for samples.

I like wide boy and wider boy. I am finishing up a doubler myself.
I'll post in here when it's finished. Well actually, all I really need to change is the gui, so I'll post it right now.
It was going to be a mastering tool, but the delay time is better suited for pads, arps, and more ethereal sounds. At any rate, here it is.
(I also might add some panning option.)

enjoy.
I'll try and have the "real" version released soon, but for now this might help someone. No re-selling! Please don't redistribute either.
Special thanx to kdlynch btw.
