one of the good things about kvr is that not everyone likes (or needs) a supersaw.

Well, Vonbrucken, while I *would* have liked the idea of something more "fresh" to win the contest (such as Bram's excellent Lunchbox - I'm wondering why it hasn't made it to the top 3), after all Triple Cheese is just a small (sort of limited) but great synth. Almost everybody should be able to come up with some useful patches in a matter of minutes and most of them *will* sound rather well as the used components (just as usual for U-He stuff) are excellent.
It might be too much "middle of the road" for some people, but well, in general the majority of voters seem to like it just like that.
Yeah, there's more innovative things to be found among the entries (such as the video VST, such as the already mentioned Lunchbox, such as Collide and Play, etc.) but after all people voted for what they found to be the most useful thing. And it's not as Triple Cheese is so much unlikely to be just that. YMMV, of course. But I wouldn't call it a shame at all. That's just stupid.

There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

congrats urs
ignore the naysayers, you won because votes where counted and you came out top
admittedly not my first choice but thats why it was a vote and not just one persons choice.

Well there's two ways to see it. Urs gets "free" promotion by giving a plugin away which will likely help him sell more plugins. But he's also actually giving a plugin away which is great for the freeware community.
You have to understand that he had everything to lose in this competition. He has spent several hours that could've been spent on updates for the commercial plugins. Or extra stuff for registered users to attract customers. Unlike someone like myself who just makes stuff for fun and couldn't care less who wins and who doesn't.
And the guy won, fair and square. If people think Cheese is the best entry in the competition then it is. It really is that simple and I congratulate him. So once again, Congrats Urs, you deserve it!
