That was amazing. I live in Berkeley. I would love to see you guys do your thing live. Absolutely stellar production. Do you work out of a studio around the Bay?

Hay thanks for listening! I'll pass on the message to them. Mia's actually concentrating on recording her album right now. So they're not doing to much performing. Although sometimes for fun she goes to open mic nights at the Down-Low in Berkeley (on Shatuck, probably close to your side of town ;) )

As far as recording I usualy work at www.sfsoundworks.com in SF, or www.510studios.com in Fremont, Or After Dark Studio in Daly City.
These songs were recorded at After Dark Studios.

I just completed a disc with a progressive death metal band
recorded and mixed entirely in Tracktion 1 . The mastering was done in another facility (And I'm still not sure I shouldn't have tried that myself too) Anyhow, there's a couple of tunes here for those interested:

Chase Sinister

The latst magnum opus, in all its ten minute glory. Five MS-20s, three Polysixes with arpeggiators burbling, one CP70, two Drumatics and one RMIII. Not all running at exactly the same time though. Sometimes I get carried away! Rumours that my kitchen sink has disappeared are completely unfounded...

Hey, Chester,

Any chance you would be able to put up the "non-" mastered version so that we could hear the difference?

For obvious learning reasons, not to evaluate the mastering job....

Thanks, and if not no biggie,

This thread is too dead - needs a new post so here's a new song:

Scott Lake: Tram (with lyrics by Jens Leuner and fretless by Andy McRory)

Tracktion for tracking/mixing.

ID3 tags should have most of the details.

Well I am not a Jazz player but I am trying to learn.
It's a spontaneous "one take" without cleaning up any mistakes:

Got my copy of Tracktion this week and did this track to try it out.

It's a number that I used to play in a former band but redone for guitar, so no vocals or anything yet.

Hope you enjoy!

Finished this song ("I Don't Care") a while back but I forgot to post it on this sticky:

If you like it then feel free to post over at http://toddreynolds.blogspot.com (song info and links are on the left hand side of the main page). I'd love to hear your comments.

Hope you all enjoy it and thanks for listening!

Im a newbie trying to figure out the whole recording and mastering bit. Above is a link to a song we recorded last night and I have tried to final mix. Please give me any advice on any ways to improve quality (plug ins, filters etcc..) Using a Mackie Onyx 1640 firewire with shure mics on amps and audix mics on drums.

Here's my latest project:

http://toddreynolds.blogspot.com/2006/1 ... be-so.html

The video itself is 452 MB. The above link actually takes you to my blog page and the video link is there along with some explanation of the video.

We wanted to have this finished in time for Halloween but things just didn't work out the way we had hoped. Also, the Google Video hosting site made the video appear slightly more grainy than what we intended but the audio we scored turned out good.

Enjoy!
