Over here, Apple is offering the same students discounts as Steinberg. 50% that is. Now, even at that LogicPro is still more expensive (around 480 Euros), but Logic Express would probably do the job as well.

However, I don't see the problem with Rapture as it's basically available in all plugin formats. The only question remaining whether they already offer a UB version of it, which is what you'd need to run it on an IntelMac.
Oh, I've just been looking, and there is a UB update, but so far it seems to be available in AU format only.
So you're out of luck for now it seems.

Personally, I would have gotten Logic if I had a Mac.
In fact, I *do* have a Mac(book) and I solely bought it to run Logic on it. For running Cubase I'd always go the PC route.

It might be awfully convoluted though but both are free so you don't loose anything but time.

I'll have to look into this a little bit. Would this be like rewiring it into Cubase? I'm not sure I understand how this would work.

Again with Rax, would I be able to rewire this into Cubase, or is this something I would have to make a audio loop, and import it to Cubase? I'm a little confused but these little programs. Can they be rewired into a DAW? How do you use them?

I've never used it myself so i'm not sure. But Jack can route Audio to and from
different apps. So then midi remains. I don't know if Jack takes care of that or if you
can route it in CoreMidi. But i think those two should allow you to do what you want.

Someone more up to speed on these matters have to chime in on this.
