Over here, Apple is offering the same students discounts as Steinberg. 50% that is. Now, even at that LogicPro is still more expensive (around 480 Euros), but Logic Express would probably do the job as well.
However, I don't see the problem with Rapture as it's basically available in all plugin formats. The only question remaining whether they already offer a UB version of it, which is what you'd need to run it on an IntelMac.
Oh, I've just been looking, and there is a UB update, but so far it seems to be available in AU format only.
So you're out of luck for now it seems.
Personally, I would have gotten Logic if I had a Mac.
In fact, I *do* have a Mac(book) and I solely bought it to run Logic on it. For running Cubase I'd always go the PC route.

There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

So wait: is this correct or not? If the VSTi doesn't work, then Cakewalk is lying to you.jupiter8 wrote:System Requirements

It does indeed look like there is a VSTi OSX version of the Rapture.

I'll have to look into this a little bit. Would this be like rewiring it into Cubase? I'm not sure I understand how this would work.jupiter8 wrote:I think you could get this running with AU Lab

It might be awfully convoluted though but both are free so you don't loose anything but time.

Again with Rax, would I be able to rewire this into Cubase, or is this something I would have to make a audio loop, and import it to Cubase? I'm a little confused but these little programs. Can they be rewired into a DAW? How do you use them?

If you read what was going on, the UB update is ONLY AUDIO UNIT. No VSTi UB release, that's the problem.bduffy wrote:So wait: is this correct or not? If the VSTi doesn't work, then Cakewalk is lying to you.jupiter8 wrote:System Requirements

different apps. So then midi remains. I don't know if Jack takes care of that or if you
can route it in CoreMidi. But i think those two should allow you to do what you want.
Someone more up to speed on these matters have to chime in on this.
