yeah it's a crazy effect. :), but very useful for some things. I used the Haas effect theory - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haas_effect , and some of my own little insane ideas to create it. Changed the orders of delay->phase shift on l vs r for starters

Yeah, tell me about it. As much as you can hate them, they still make some real magic plugins.

Here a 3 Day full functinal demo enjoy !

DuosX doesn't really have a default setting,
every voice, every song and singer is different.
One-time a song can be slow the other time fast,
if you want to achieve a good result you cannot use default settings.
You have to tune the settings for each and every performance,
until the result is working perfectly within the song.

I will leave the demo only for a few days online.

First, doubler, then ampsim ...

Sheesh, next thing Rene's gunna make .... oh, I don't know, maybe a midi processor :!:

Get original, buddy :hihi:

Post

Actually, there are quite a few things waiting in a line.
Yes, a midi processor is also there.
Probably not that kind, that you are thinking of.
All I can say at this point is, that it will be a vocal effect,
that's does not exist like this in the VST world.

Ya know, Rene. Why the heck didn't you simply release that mic thingy FIRST? You may have actually managed to build a good business on the strength of that alone, instead of what we have come to expect.... hehe.... I won't make another "air" ampsim joke, I promise :hihi:

Post

Drum mic positioner, was actually at first a part of the guitar amplifier,
then I modified it into the state that went into the competition.
The guitar amplifier taught me quite a lot and the amount of knowledge
that had gathered over the years not only surprise myself.
Drum mic positioner and the KVR developer challenge,
hopefully made Soundspectral a bit more known as only for
the never-ending ampsim story, that will come to an end when I finally
will decide to release the VST.

I hope you will keep your promise. :)

Hi Rene, DuosX sounds really good! You seem to have a good Pitch shift algorithm, do you have any future plans for a pitch shift plugin? :)

Actually, there is no pitch shifting going on in DuosX.
Also, there are no delays involved.

But I actually have a quite useful pitch shifter.
How would you like to see a pitch shifter VST ?
What functions should it have ?
The better you can describe the functions the better I can create such a VST.

It would be great if you can share your thoughts.

Cheers,
René

A pitch shifter would be excellent; there actually is a lack of good, realtime pitch shifters around, along the lines of Waves Pitchshifter or Steinberg's Voice Machine. I like how, on both those plugins, you can select your pitches manually or from a Piano Roll, and especially with Voice Machine, you can use MIDI to change the pitch of the vocal. As it stands, I don't have many good options at home for making artificial backing vocals.

I don't want to hype things up, but this is exactly what I'm working on.
At the moment, the graphics are not ready and after that,
I need to put the whole thing together.
The engine is already ready and working and that in real-time. :)

Cool! You be sure to let us know.

And tell me again: how come you don't list and sell your fine Duox and other vocal plug-ins normally? Why just pop up and offer demos in doubler threads? Just curious. :D

Post

Yeah. It really annoyed me to see that if I'm honest.
