Hi,

Where do you want feedback in frettedsynth his plugin ?

Synthedit does have a ( delayed ) feedback module, it does work but not good enough. ( altho i heard that the nord modular also has a delayed feedback module..don't hear anyone complaining about that hehe :hihi: )
If you could say where he should add feedback he could try asking a developer to build some dist module or so with feedback built in.
That would solve it :P

Cya,
Rob.
I know this guy! I used some of his distortion modules in Drive5, His name is Rob H. (that was the only name I could get from the modules help box) Anyhow! he makes some nice sounding modules and might be able to help? :)
BTW I found out later that that Rob H. is XGmode :) Thanks again for the modules.

I think I have that worked out? will post some test plugins soon! also think it might help out the noise gate problems of FreeAmp?

Hi Frettedsynth,

hehe,. yea i'm the developer of the RH-modules :P
No problem, i love making modules ( even if they are useless :hihi: ).

Erm, about the feedback bit :

I do need to know what needs feedback, is it needed in my dist / waveshaping modules that you are using ?
Or do you require a new module that can feedback it's output back into the input ? Some more info would be helpfull.

I never tried doing feedback, so do need to read up on that.
If i can't do it, i probebly could ask KDL to help me out on this.

Cya!
Rob.

It's exciting to know you guys are looking into this. If you need to borrow an Ebow for a couple of weeks, let me know and I can mail one to you. PM me.

Great plug-in, but all I want for Christmas is a FreeAmp 3.0 with lower cpu!! It's kind of a hog.....

Sold out=A term invented by those jealous types who can't write music worth listening to...

 Not too sure about that myself
Got a few things I'm in the middle of right now, when I get a chance I will try some things in sync modular and let you know what I come up with?

Hi,

Shane gave me this link :

http://ebow.com/

Essentially, it is a focused feedback loop directed at a single string. It's the holy grail of sustained, controlled feedback on a guitar.

So this would go in your guitarsynth, but i dunno how to make it.
Guess this type of device should work in the OSC module(s) you are using,. some type of feedback path.

I'm not able to code a OSC module yet, so i can't be of help on this. :(
I'm betting this would require a newly coded OSC module.

Just received the December issue of Electronic Musician and what do I see at the top of page 39 - FreeAmp 2 (with Grymmjack's GUI) :-o

Congrats to Fretted Synth and Grymmjack!!!

Now THAT is cool! BUT - you MUST make it so you can have two separate strings of effects on each amp, so you can not only crossfade between amps, but effects too!!

You guys should really just buy Ebows. It's a performance thing--they are very fun to play, and easy, too, and fairly inexpensive.

Of course if Fretted Synth finds a way to implement this effect, all the more power to him, and us. But I'll happily take v3 without it.

:hihi: Off to the book shop I go :hihi: and I thought tonight was going to be a laid back night? Thanks for letting us know :)

@inverseroom - Yeh! the more I look at the ebow the more I realize its an external feedback loop :) Sure does give all kinds of silly ideas though.

er, I think everyone should have an ebow. Or a Fernandes guitar if they are inclined.

Cool! :tu: Is there a review? What's the word?

Can't wait to see what comes out next.

I like Free Amp 2 and have used it in some tunes of mine.

Glad you finally put up the paypal tip jar. I just took a trip there today and dropped a modest gift in there for all your effort.

Cool! :tu: Is there a review? What's the word?
Not a review but a general article on direct recording of guitar. The picture caption reads:

"Fretted Synth Audio's FreeAmp 2 is a fully featured freeware amp-, cabinet-, and effects-modeling VST plug-in for Windows."

The other pictures of software show Guitar Rig 2 and Ampeg SVX.

FreeAmp 2 is also mentioned later in the article in a general way as a "pretty-good-quality" freeware modeler.

Also - Fretted Synth Audio is listed in the manufacturer contacts section (alongside companies like Mesa/Boogie, Vox, Tech 21, Steinberg, Cakewalk, IK Multimedia, ...).

I am not a long-time EM reader, so I don't know this for certain, but I haven't seen many references to freeware products in their pages before. To get a mention and a picture may be pretty rare.

Even though it's not a review, I think congrats are in order for Fretted Synth (& Grymmjack for making it look so good).
