Run 0.22 at 12 voices and you'll have a crash.

Yes the other thing is an other thing. Good to hear you're not having it though. Get 0.23 though because your quality setting was wrong on 0.22, you'd have been getting 2X quality when you thought you were getting 4X (maybe that had something to do with your results?)

We've got our first two demo MP3s up (which if you were following the 0.1x announcement thread you've already heard) at http://www.admiralquality.com/products/ ... .php#Demos

Some more background color schemes have been posted for you on the http://www.admiralquality.com/products/ ... ackgrounds page...

A "sporty" deep blue on orange. My flavor of the week.

Image
This was meant to be a nice mustardy yellow. You get bananas instead!

Image
Charcoal Black. For that evil empire mood.

Image
"Made in Canada." I had to do one of these, it's the law here you see.

Image
Good old Cobalt Blue!

Finally, a Poly-Ana that won't clash with the furniture. Let your mom know, "parchment" Poly-Ana is here. Beige has never been so exciting!

;)

OK, no more background colors until version 1.x is out. Also, I'm afraid we won't be updating these for every Beta version (unless we add a new knob or need to change labelling) so, sorry, but your version numbers on the front panel will be off as we progress through Beta. You can still read the real version number from the Parameter Display at the top when Poly-Ana launches.

Well, Admiral, I think you should be greatly rewarded for all of your hard work, you now have another shipmate on board!

Thanks jcn7, welcome aboard!

hey, AQ

i gave in and tried it - i was going to wait until a later version - and i really think this could be a contender for 'synth of the year'. it sounds as good as, or better than, any hardware synth i have played, as well as software synths. really fantastic!! And it is SO flexible; it is a synth programmer's (me :D ) dream!
I love the sound of this, truly. I know what i want for xmas now  i would buy it myself right now, but am too broke ATM. but i will get it before the end of the year.
anyway, well done!!!

cheers

may I ask: how many presets has it got at this point?

Post

Thanks Z3R0T0N1N, glad you like it. It's a me-dream too!

leonard, 40 presets currently. 16 by me. The rest by MDK (KVR's marvotron). Not a lot, I know, but there'll be many more coming soon.

I'd be happy to preset program. :)

But I don't have the money now. :?

Hi AdmiralQuality,

I'm not sure if this is a good thread to bring this up, but I get a lot of stuck notes with Poly-Ana. specs include: laptop pentium m, winxp home, Cakewalk Project5, Poly-ana running via cakewalk vst adapter. Had only 2 tracks inserted, 1 audio track and 1 poly-ana track. cpu use was below 20%. stuck notes stopped on track rewind.

On another note, the gui doesn't fit in my WXGA screen  . I like the banana colour though. The canuck is cool too eh.

This IS the thread to bring up all issues Poly-Ana!

What do you use as a MIDI controller Sluggo? It's not a Creative Prodikeys by any chance, is it? I get stuck notes with it too (but I get them any time CPU is maxxed... it's driver misses events when the machine gets maxxed.)

You say you're only at 20% CPU though. Tell me if bypassing then un-bypassing Poly-Ana helps with your stuck notes. (Sounds like it as track rewind probably forces this.) Also, you're using latest version Poly-Ana Beta 0.23? Oh... one more question... do you see the keys that are stuck held down on the GUI keyboard?

Also, can you tell me a consistent technique to make stuck notes?

And yeah, the Canuck color scheme was a bit of an experiment. But it's fun. :) All those Who and Austin Powers fans are going to like it when I do a Union Jack. ;)

Thanks Sluggo.

P.S. What res is your particular "WXGA" screen res? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WXGA I may add a slider only interface soon to address issues with small screen resolutions, but it won't be pretty.

hey there,
I'm not sure about the keyboard keys on the gui staying down, I can't really see them because they hang off the bottom of the screen. It doesn't look like the keys are staying down. wxga is 1280x800. 15" widescreen on laptops.
I'm using a usb controller.. an emu xboard 25.

In my case, I had the two tracks going. I was looping maybe a 30-bar section. Either I was playing the keyboard (not recording) and eventually notes would get stuck. Or I could record a midi part and play it back and the notes would get stuck.

Where is the bypass switch on the gui?

Bypass is usually the host's control. So it's not in the Poly-Ana GUI. BUT... there's a way to force a bypass/unbypass (suspend/resume) in Poly-Ana. Go to the options and change the Quality setting and click OK. That will suspend/resume Poly and reset most voice parameters. Please let me know if doing this makes it better.

Yes, switching the quality stops the stuck note.
btw, I don't have the controller plugged in right now, so I guess it's not an issue.

Thank you! That's how to bug-report people!

Hey Admiral Quality, I remember a while back that there was an issue with M-Tron (I believe) where Sonar or the VST Adapter wasn't sending a proper all notes off command when hitting stop. I have no clue if that's been addressed or not (or how helpful that even is), but this sounds like the same issue. I'd try and confirm the bug for you, but I really want to check out how Poly-Ana runs on a later beta and don't want to use all my time up now.
