Ay caramba !

I PMed Fuzzpilz the other week about Oatmeal and any imminent changes... he said he thinks it's pretty much done and he's working on new projects (though busy with other commitments too).

So... I wouldn't hold out for any big changes like Unison, maybe just bugfixes (if there are any...)

Oatmeal is mentioned all around as one of the best Synth on the market.
That is a little bit exaggerated
…a little bit.

it's one of the best 'cause it's a free synth with lot of possibilities...that's all

87 pages of raves and compliments and not a single review on the KVR Audio Instrument Plugin Page! What a shame!

I copied the following from the Oatmeal KVRaudio page:
"It is not possible to review Oatmeal - this is because it is unreleased or in alpha/beta testing."

So, it's not our fault really, I think Fuzzpliz should release it.
It's one of the best VST synth I tried, specially among the free ones.

Best.

Post

I see, I didn't catch that. I went there trying to learn more about it and was shocked to see no reviews. I'll just grab a big ladder and climb down off my high horse now. But I do wish more of us could take the time to leave a few more reviews around here - and that includes ME!

Oatmeal sure looks like an interesting synth, or am I just being mesmerized by all the lovely controls!? I snagged a copy, so now we'll see...

Post

there isn't any "best synth" -
it only depends on your expectations and needs !

Post

It's a little "complete" synth :)

Keep in mind that some of the 'interpretation' from the manual text it ships with is my own and may not be right. I post partly to get feedback. I'm going to start a new thread for RFC of skin when I start it.

I had never read the manual entirely until now, and holy shit is oatmeal powerful and flexible beyond imagination. This thing deserves my best efforts.

Are there any particular 'themes' of skins people want for oatmeal? The target size I'm going for is probably going to be around 700x500 or so which is large but it needs to be. I'll be mocking it up in Visio before I do any skinning so everyone can put their 2 cents in and stuff.

May be a while but it's something I have promised to do in the past so I try my best to keep my word.

The existing skins are excellent for sure but I want to take this on and see if I can make a nice one myself.

Post

oh yeah the notes are made from 37-3.

Post

Great !
Jack, you make every plugin you skinned end up in my plugin folder (even if i haven't got so much use of it), so it is +1 +1 +1 if it is a plugin i already like !
yipeee !

Post

sink; Thanks, brother. I made a thread for discussing this so feel free to go there and post your comments/desires/thoughts. It's the beginning part of the process. Plus that leaves this thread for the praise only as it was :) Don't want to hijack.

Ok see you in the other thread!
